Thanks for the friend request!
Did you have fun?
That's great, I'm happy to hear that. Mine was also nice, thank you!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
I don't mind something being mysterious or out of the place, as long as the characters don't act like 'everything is fine' even though it's not.
You shouldn't feel discouraged if you don't want to play it all and just go for the main DLC story.
I didn't play it for a long time because I was under the impression that there wasn't any real reason for me to play it. Now I'm glad I did it.
I don't know what you think about that, but reading a 50+ hours long VN is not the same as playing a 50h+ game.
Clicking a 'vn game' can be a torture, if you're not captivated right from the start, which is a case for most of them...
Oh, you watched Zombieland Saga S2. How was it compared to S1? I didn't expect to enjoy the first season, but I'm glad I was mistaken.
I'm super happy to hear that you're doing great now! I'm pretty much the same right now, late December to early January was rough but doing great currently. Been back at work now and taking things a day at a time I guess lol
I don't know where this comes from, but I think that Utena shares the same problem, I have with those kind of series. By that I mean the general feeling of oddness, where all of the characters have this strange aura around them. Something that seems wrong or out of the place for us, is normal for them. You get those characters in 'normal' series, they are usually branded as the strange ones, but in series like Utena, everyone feels uncanny.
I slightly remember some conversation about VNs, but I forgot the details... Oops.
Yeah, the DLC of Fata Morgana is farily short, but as a standalone arc, is fairly long.
Don't get discouraged by the fact, that it tells a story that you already know the conclusion of. It gives that additional layer of deepness to the whole origin story. During the regular game you only got like a static, hour long, wall of text about the past events, so it felt a bit lackluster.
The last time I played a VN was probably... about a year ago? It was the first Muv-Luv, which was... okayish? I guess? It's the first out of 3 games, which is kind of obligatory, but at the same time, it's just a basic galge game, so by the end of it, I was burned out completely... Good job devs.
Are those like the 'movie stuff' where you lie on a sofa and someone tries to invade your mind with sublimal questions and stuff?
I usually rate classic stuff better than modern series, but I can't support something that gives me very mixed feelings. What do you think about Utena as a whole?
That's actually my second car, so I wouldn't clasify myself as a rookie in that department. I changed my good old Mini Cooper into a Jeep Renegade. Difference is colossal, not going to lie.
I do the same, but when there's VA, at least you have the ability to listen to someone, even if you skip most of it.
Great! Glad you liked it. Did you play any other VNs in the past?
Requiem is a mixed bag for me. The main story is stellar. I'd say it's on par with the best arcs of the base game, but the other stuff is too much.
Except for the prequel main story, the other stuff are just some short side stories (mediocre), some modern time side story (didn't care at all), some 4th wall breaking elements (that were also in main game apparantely) and a 'true ending' to the prequel's story... The problem is that you had to finish all of the other fillers, so instead of doing that... I just watched the rest on youtube. It was quite okay.
Any progress with that? Those therapies usually are done to eliminate or imrpove something.
I mean, none of them is bad, that's for sure. I would only consider Utena as something I don't understand the appeal of. Weirdness for the sake of it.
I'd say that it was the least of the problems, actually. Mostly dealing with some odd problems with my car, and the consequences of having stuff to do and not having an available vehicle.
Yeah, OST is great. The only thing that's lacking in the game, is the lack of voice acting. Other than then, it's a stellar VN, with great atmosphere and plot.
Interesting. Even if it's my favorite VN, I would not recommend that to someone who doesn't play them and isn't comfortable with them. But I guess it worked this time.
Doctor nonsense? I assume you mean the usual stuff?
Monster - great
Fate - I'm a fan of Zero, so also good
Utena - Uhmm... It's unique, I'll admit. But I didn't like it much.
Chihayafuru - It was okay, but I've never watched anything after first season.
Maybe not sooo busy, but because of various stuff, I didn't have any motivation for almost anything, so there you go.
Fata Morgana! Nice! It's probably my favorite 'classic' VN of all time, so I'm happy that you like it. Where are you exactly? And which version are you playing? The normal version? Or with the expansion?
