Even though both are not alike in the plot, both stories have twins as protagonists with the very same names: Akane & Aoi. Both evoke a nice warming feeling of the beauty of bonds, whether they are family, friends, or even lovers. Beautiful artwork and nice pacing complete both mangas.
Ponyo consists in a plot aimed at a younger audience while Nagi no Asukara's targets the older, but both display some similarities:
Both have in common a feudal world where gods and humans exist, and in both the same love triangle: a guy who lost the girl he most loved, and later he starts falling in love with another girl, but then his ex lover is ressurected.
These movies portray the story of a young lady who falls in love with a "wolf man". While in Ookami Kodomo we follow the story of a young widow trying to raise her hybrid children, in Fuse Teppou we follow a hunter girl who ends up falling in love with her prey, still, the plots deliver a message of true love and are determined to show the harshness that is to a wolf to live amongst human civilization. While Ookami Kodomo focus on slice of life/drama and develops its characters very deeply, Fuse Teppou focus on adventure and fantasy, but both manage to pull your heartstrings by having a very similar end.
If you're looking for a philosophical, confusing time travel plot, these two stories are alike.
Both display several similarities:
Both anime display some plot similarities like, for instance:
Both pieces display some plot similarities, like for instance the typical "the world is in danger" due to a virus that kills people by transforming them in crystal/metal and the hero with a mysterious deceased sister that was also connected to the other hero. Both animes have great soundtrack and character designs.
Both have: - Main hero and heroine end up living in the same house and becoming sort of "family". - Heroine/Hero have feelings for each other. - Similar cute artwork.
- Both have a supernatural event occurring in a school setting.
Both are beautifully written manga pieces that focus on making new memories with the person you love: - In HnN the heroine died and reincarnated, she watches her former lover painfully suffering for the death of her former self and she struggles to make new memories with him in this life, release him and make him acknowledge her current self without telling him that she is his former lover reincarnated. - In KKT the hero lost the memories of his lover, the heroine and forgets her everyday. She painfully accepts his condition and tries to find a way for him to keep his memories, as she encounters him everyday and does not reveal her connection to him. - Both manga will leave you with a bittersweet feeling: you will love how sweet the heroines can be, completely different from the typical shoujo as well as the serious atmosphere. Masterpieces.

Both take place in a futuristic world where humanity depends on technology. Fractale is more childish/romance while PP is more action/mystery.
Both feature expressionless composed girl obsessed in studying (and wears braids/pigtails), the difference is that Last Game is Tonari´s version "Shizuku x Yamaken route" since the protagonist of LG greatly resembles Yamaken in personality and looks from Tonari. Also in LG the setting changes to university (later).
In both: - Heroine grew up in the shadow of her twin brother who was the "chosen one" and so she was ignored by the villagers and only got along with her twin and her guardian. - Heroine replaces her deceased twin brother, assumes his identity and becomes the leader of a war/revolution.
Both have: - Strong heroine crossdressing as a boy and fighting like a man. - In both, the heroine has dead family members. - Both are set in the same historical time and even share a common character: Oda Nobunaga. - The heroine is somehow related to Oda Nobunaga: In KnH she is his secret lover while in SB she is his sister. - KnH has shoujo-ai hints while SB has supernatural. - Both have beautiful artwork.

In these, the story has great resemblances in the plot, even though one is shonen (Inuyasha) and the other is shoujo (KH), for instance, both have: - Naive human heroine who has a special power and is on highschool and has the ability to travel to past. - Main hero is a youkai with ears and white hair and at first fights a lot with the heroine but ends up protecting her later. - The relationship between Tomoe/Nanami and Kagome/Inuyasha is quite similar: it begins in a conflicting way but then it turns into affection. - The hero loved a human girl in his past and wanted to be human to be with her but she died. - Yukiji (Tomoe´s former lover) resembles Kikyou (Inuyasha´s former lover) in looks and personality. Personally I like Inuyasha better because it develops the supporting characters more deeply.
- Both have a main boy that everyone is afraid of but in reality he is very sweet and misunderstood.
Vampire Juuji is the shonen version of VK. Similarities: - One of the protagonists is the most powerful pureblood vampire that ever existed. - The pureblood wants to unite humanity and vampires through a common enemy: himself. - The pureblood had a girl/ancestress he loved that died in the past and her "remains" became a weapon against vampires. - The current girl who chases after him and loves him has a similar name (Kayuki/Yuuki). - One character obsessed with revenge against purebloods because they were responsible for the death of someone he cared about.

Remove Haruhi and Mori, remove the extreme rich school setting and make them all "commoners" and you´ll have Kimi to Boku. Just imagine Ouran without the boys being hosts but instead, Childhood friends, and with a more slow pacing. Replace Ouran´s comedy with slice of life. You´ll get a cheerful mixed blood blonde, a serious intelligent megane, funny twins, and a fluffy boy that likes cute things living their daily lives in extreme fun.

In both in the "past" arc, there are two best friends, but one of them is secretly "evil" and wants to end the world as he knows, for a certain purpose. In the middle of those two best friends there is an extremely important girl for both, yet one of them ends up killing her. Then the "evil" guy reveals his plans and they become enemies, but deep down, the "evil" guy is not entirely evil and it is capable of feeling and loving, he cries a lot or he is usually emotionless with empty eyes. Usually the nice flashbacks of the "evil" guy with his best friend are set on a garden. In both the girl has long black hair and liked to sing for them.
Both have as setting a fantasy kingdom with mystical beings like fairies, mermaids and magicians. Both more mature scenes than most of shoujo and have great artwork.

The protagonist is voiced by the same seiyuu, and she is a tomboy girl who always tries her best. Also her love interest is someone from her past that she saw once but now she doesn't recognizes him. Same vibe overall.
Both are alternative versions of Alice in Wonderland. HNKNA centers in harem/romance while Kyousougiga is a crazy random journey centered in adventure/supernatural/comedy. In both, the main girl who is transported to another world is voiced by the same voice actress. We also have twins and the White rabbit in both.
Both are great plots about killers and organizations. Both have children/teenagers forced to join the organization and kill in order to survive. Both have the protagonists getting attached to each other and later turning into enemies, but still, caring for each other.
Both have a main protagonist stuck on a strange high school where a teacher gives him "missions" to save someone. In Boku to kanojo its a girl and a boy who switch bodies while in Heaven!! its a human boy and a god. Both are extremely funny parodies with romance.
Precisely the same plot: A girl and a boy switch bodies. Hilarity ensues. The difference is that in Boku to kanojo, the girl enjoys a lot living in a male body and the male is anxious to return to his body, while in TMWaFBaW, its the boy who enjoys the most being in a female body and the female is anxious to have her body back.

While H.C is on a university setting, KTB is on High School but it has similar pace, similar friendships and even characters with similar personalities (the serious hardworking guy that wears glasses and is in love with a much older woman (Mayama/Kaname), the funny guy that always makes parodies (Morita/Chizuru), a girl from their age that is very small and used to be closed to others until she met them (Hagu/ Mary), a sensitive kind guy (Takemoto/ Shun), a girl that has an unrequited love for the serious guy (Yamada/Hisako). The difference is, instead of an older guy that is part of the group (Shuuji), you have twins for comical relief (Yuuta and Yuki). Also, a hinted love triangle involving two boys of the group with the girl that is very small.
Both have a similar setting: a young girl goes to study to an academy. She is naive and funny most of the times and gets the attention of two men. Very similar costumes and feeling, except that Ciel is on a fantasy setting while DMG is not.

the protagonist in both is very similar in personality. both anime are about achieving a dream. In both the protagonist has a school friend that has feelings for her. Both give you a nice relaxing happy feeling. Great animation and ost too.
Both have a protagonist named "Snow White" (ShiraYuki), and while in AnSH the protagonist has Red hair like an apple and knows the cure to poisoned apples, in S.A., the protagonist deeply hates apples and has Red eyes.
In both, Alice is a boy and he must win the "game" (in Aya is to kill the white rabbit, while in S.A. is to be King). Also in Aya, Alice stole the name to the real Alice, while in S.A., Alice´s true name was stolen by the Red King, and in both its essential to get the name back in order to win the game.
A girl who tries her best in making her dream come true while she is part of a love triangle between two childhood friends. Chihaya reminds a younger version of Kyoko:)
Both are about girls who are excellent players in a certain game, although Shion no ou focus on mystery/psychological and Chihayafuru in slice of life/romance. Also in both, one of the main boys is serious/quiet, wears glasses and becomes friends with the protagonist.
They both have heart warming naive girls as protagonists and a "tough" blonde guy that helps her. Both have France references and both are very cute anime~~~

Both are about a boy in a very similar love triangle, and both give you a "lesson" feeling.
Both are wonderful slice of life stories about a younger girl being taken care of an older guy. Both leave you with a warm fuzzy relaxing feeling~~~
Both have: - BISHIES, Supernatural, fantasy, amazing art. - And a group of people with powers that lives together in a mansion (and all fight together with a partner), plus a hugely powerful main guy that desperately wants to protect the other protagonist because of a "romantic" event on their past.
Magic, fights, main heroine is a loli, and both have a "crazy" white haired guy who is a villain at first, but in the end, he´s not really what he seems.
Both manga display some similarities like, for instance: - A Powerful Organization (Pandora/Circus) & some weird monsters. - An alternative fantasy World, where PH is set in an alternative Victorian Era and Karneval in a Modern Steampunk World. - A blonde happy go lucky main character (Oz/Yogi) that apparently has no problems, but later on some secrets are revealed. IMO, I like PH better because of certain elements you do not find in Karneval: While PH & Karneval start with a happy feeling, PH soon becomes heart wrenching, leading to a profound character development and an intricate twisted plot, while Karneval manages to keep the happy feeling by shortening the drama scenes and making soft transitions. Still, both are mangas that heavily rely on the message of true friendship and that is the central theme: "your friend is your family, you will protect them, they will protect you" is a quote that could define both plots, even if they are dealt in a completely opposite manner. Also, in both mangas the males are predominately more well developed than the females. Take for instance, Alice (PH) & Tsukumo (Karneval) which are badass, but frequently overshadowed by the males´s strong and meaningful presence. In general, I would say if You like one of these manga, you'll certainly enjoy the other, they both have gorgeous artwork and most of all, very likable characters.
Similiar art. Similar theme: "ghosts". both are sweet.
Both are very sweet yaoi with a naive uke and a gentle seme, although LB is better because it has much more deepness and background~~~
Both start as slice of life shows where a lively naive girl arrives to help someone. She ends up meeting an older guy that is harsh on her at first, but then slowly becomes softer, because she starts changing him. Also, later, the plot introduces some Drama & Forbidden love themes. Both are great stories, with lovely art, soundtrack, and give you a nice feeling.
Both have a girl with "dark" powers who seals the demons/monsters. Both are dark stories with a touch of gothic.
