In the case of incels and feminists, I'm not sure what external intervention would work but I'm pretty damn sure that shaming incels (especially when the number of young'uns bein' lonely is rising) or any other feminist strategy is going to backfire. I generally treat incels and feminists both as depressed people and try to give them advises on those lines. In very few cases it's actually worked wonderfully. In most, I just end up getting called a white knight or an incel myself.

Lol I know, it's ridiculous. I take long breaks whenever I get burned out from reading the same bullshit over and over. I don't think I'd still be around if not for that. And although I often feel like arguing politics on the internet is a waste of time, I think a decent amount of people actually believe this stuff (or less extreme variants of it) and it's hard to see how to get beyond it without talking to people. I like to think that, if nothing else, the time I spend on forums helps clarify my own thoughts and improves the conversations I have with people in real life. But who knows... I might be better off just reading a book.
