Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (47/? chp)
Really great start but I feel like its starting to get a little generic. Too much comedy for my taste, I wish it was more serious. Still really enjoyed the start though, and the premise was pretty interesting. Going to put it on hold for now and pick it up again if I hear there's some big improvements later, but for now it's just okay. I feel like there are still great moments but they have too much space between them. For now its a decent action manhwa with good art, but I feel like it could have been more interesting had it embraced the ...

Red Blue (Manga) add
Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (12/? chp)
The story and characters are pretty messy, but the mma bits so far are interesting. The story itself seems a little contrived. The main character wants to beat up an MMA fighter classmate because.... he doesn't feel understood? or something along those lines. The characters themselves are okay, outside of the main character who just confuses me. If it keeps up the quality of the fights and techniques, I'll keep reading, but that's primarily because I'm a MMA fan and practitioner.

Art is good, but if you haven't read the great martial arts manga, (i.e. Holyland, Teppu, Meguru, Ippo, etc,) I would not recommend reading ...

Mixed Feelings
So much wasted potential. There are some awesome moments that'll be a treat to any combat sports fan, but ultimately the experience of reading this manga is that of being blueballed. It also feels as though the main character, Minoru, never really comes into his own. He seems to have anti-plot armor, where he wins up until a crucial moment, at which point he gets caught with some move and loses. The main villains are never confronted, the main character never really gets his concluding arc, and the rival characters pretty much never get any real action. Samart and Singhsak are awesome villains, and they ...

Battle Royale (Manga) add
This is the greatest B-Movie in manga. It's cliche and tries too hard to pull at your strings, it's story is nonsensical and inconsistent, and yet I couldn't stop reading. It's pretty gory and violent, has memorable characters and moments, and is just a lot of fun to read. If you're one of those people who needs to twirl their wine and raise their pinkies while they make a "detailed analysis" about themes or symbolism, or any of that sort of literary garnish, you shouldn't read this, you won't enjoy it.

Story: 6/10
The story itself is more or less just standard death game fare.
Art: 8/10
Characters: 5/10
Enjoyment: ...

Oyasumi Punpun is more or less the life's story of Onodera Punpun, a boy living in a dysfunctional family, learning to live with what life throws at him. His life has it's ups and downs, he experiences romance, heartbreak, reflects on his own experiences and wrongs, and grows as a person. The story itself isn't anything too special, but that's just how life is honestly, there aren't that many wild twists and turns that seem out of the ordinary outside of the ending, which I can respect because I think that's what Asano was going for. The character writing is so well done, to the ...

Solo Leveling (Manga) add
Preliminary (131/201 chp)
To me, reading Solo Leveling is evolution of isekai powerfantasies. It more or less does everything that your average isekai does, but with great art and good internal consistency. Most things that happen in the world make sense, and there aren't very many asspulls or totally out of character things that happen. That being said, the manhwa itself isn't very deep or ambitious, it's a somewhat standard fare of just saving the world and gaining power, but in some respects, it's also better for that. I would rather read a manhwa or manga that succeeds at what it's aiming for rather than one that shoots ...
