About Lorelei

About Me:

A twenty-year-old college student, (hopefully) two semesters away from graduating. I live a pretty normal life and I am addicted to the smell of newly-opened books (it has this amazing aroma, oh yeah!). I stand around five feet nine inches and I've got two siblings to boot. I do movie marathons frequently, and I believe in music like how people believe in fairy tales.

I'm more drawn into the quieter side of anime and manga. Then again, that doesn't mean I don't try out other stuff. It's better getting 'mature' titles but it never hurts returning to childhood every once in a while. I am a fan of the seinen- and josei-demographic works. And, lastly, I appreciate conversations: hilarious, serious, weird; anything you want to talk about, count me in.

I drew the picture you see in my avatar; proof is I've got a deviantART account. It's semi-personal, so if you're interested in its URL, ask me and I'll give it to you. Don't worry, I won't bite. :)

From Sahara Mizu's My Girl - no special reason for posting it, it just makes me feel all tingly inside. =]

To each his/her own. What's good for me may not be the same for you. Let's just enjoy, okay?

STATUS: At last, an update! Done with Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. I missed updating. Next in line's Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

Heyya back ^^
yeah, I only liked what I read, and truly, your review for H&C was something that really helped me feel convinced that the series was one gem to find in a million (after going through some hard time trying to convince myself otherwise~~blames the rather sour-sad ending the second series offered..but..oh well..ma ika, na?)

As for the recs, I'm not sure if I'm reliable enough to recommend you really good shows to watch out there these days, cuz I watch almost anything AND everything I could get my hands on. so...but, do pray tell, what genres would you prefer for this 2013 new year season? I guess I would be glad to give you a decent list to fall back on if all else fails ehehehe~~~~

GOOD DAY FALC MEMBERS! This may be too late already but let us still greet you a BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR, at least. We’re having our very first newsletter to start the New Year. Hoooray~ We tried our best to shorten this as much as possible. And now, first things first:

FILIPINO ANIME LOVERS CLUB (FALC)
FALC, as the name says, is a MAL club for Filipino anime lovers – pure or half – and for everyone who’s interested to know more about the Filipino culture. Visit once in a while and leave a comment here. Who knows, maybe you’ll be able to meet someone in your area who’s pretty much the same as you – one who loves anime. We would really be glad to see the club alive with your comments. Don’t forget to be friendly, ok? Also, in here, you could find different threads that may catch some of your attention.

Here's a quick guide! Just click the buttons above. Each number represents a topic in the FALC thread.

Click the picture below to visit the chat. See you there~

ATTENTION: January 21-22 (Otaku Expo 2012)
Visit this site for the schedule of activities and click #7 if you want to meet other con/expo goers!

Absolutely! that's what I feel about them now. Guess after watching couple of seinen I realized that there are animes with a deeper meaning within it. However, that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy action scene it depends on how it represent with the plot.

Looool XD that well be a good solution for those who keep these kind of thing.

That for me.I don't know about the rest of the folks here, though I know your feeling about that -___- I relieved also after seeing your replay, I stated to think that I may asked rude questions =="
ohh that's interesting, so you care about the psychological of character?I wouldn't even think of a possible condition. Did you actually learned something about women's mind?

with pleasure =D well .. I completed recently Rumiko Takahashi Anthology and enjoyed watching it and I think you will like it too. It's a collection of 13 stories, each has its own tone. The focus tends to be based upon (mostly) normal situations that the average person should be able to identify with. Some are funny, some are sad, some are very heartwarming =)

iCe-QuEeN | 04-08-11, 4:32 AM
Yeah, kinda XD. I mean .. it's rare to find a male viewer who watch these type without having an action fight or an echii scene -___- or a pack of cute girls @@. Yes, I believe that each have his own taste, but till now I don't get what you will gain from watching cute girls all the time without having particular story or some kind of interesting event.
So, it's good ..in fact, it's a relief to find someone who care about the other side of them =D. You even like josei! How come you like it?? Don't you think that it's talks about girls and women most of the time?

I agree. Seinen and josei are more realistic and have deeper story than any other type. Even if the plot was some kinda fancy they will bring it in a most posible condition in real life.

What a hard question you asked XD! well.. I don't prefer specific genre and watch what have a good plot or interest me =)

iCe-QuEeN | 03-28-11, 10:03 AM
Hi, how are you?? by reading about you section, i noted that you like watching both seinen- and josei, which is rare between male viewers @@, and out of curiosity: would you please tell the reason? I don't mean anything by that ^^"

selen3 | 02-22-11, 9:25 AM
Hi, it's been a long time since we talked :D How are you ?
I hope you remember me :)

Centent | 01-25-11, 6:23 PM

ralphy0103 | 01-14-11, 6:29 PM
Always good to see another user supporting Natsu no Zenjitsu, easily one of the best romance seinen manga to date ;)

yoho | 01-02-11, 6:14 AM
Happy New Year! :'D Right! Who doesn't love a good old greeting? :'D Haha, I'm starting to really miss Christmas now... I can't believe it's a whole year away again. X'D

Yup, I've been good! :D I became extremely lazy during the holidays though, now I'm worrying for my productivity when I go back to university... X'D

Ah, Kuragehime! :'D As far as I know only Umee have subbed it, so definitely go with them! XD
