I'm just going to make a quick review just because I'm bored. Pretty much. I won't include that many spoilers to ruin the story, but I will keep it 50/50 as I usually like to do for my reviews.
I think that for the most part, Deadman Wonderland is a good anime on its own, as it pretty much concludes a part of the manga's story by the end of its very last episode for this "first season".
The only thing that can be a downside to it is how cliche it can be especially when it comes to the main character of the story, Ganta.

way the story was, I think it was pretty interesting, as it pretty much introduced you in the world of Deadman Wonderland, or the place itself. For this one, I think they went by it especially in the beginning as your typical survival anime where the protagonist is trying to survive it.
Then, a lot of other stuff happens, and then you then get introduced to the other aspects of this world which are the blood-wielding humans.
I think the anime is definitely still a good watch if you want more intense scenes, with characters being almost close to death to literally dying right in front of you. I think this is so far, the only Shonen I've watched that has a really hard-to-watch torture scene. BY FAR. Doesn't make the anime unwatchable, I think it's still great to have show like this.
Characters are a hit or miss, though. There are a few characters here are there where you might like and be interested in, and there are some who are not that interesting. So pick your bread and butter, as there's definitely twists and turns when it comes to the characters. But other than, it's definitely got that "MC meets bad guy, and the bad guy suddenly changes their ways realizing they are wrong", so yeah, typical shonen! But, it doesn't take away the enjoyment I had watching the series itself.
I think this anime is a good watch, not the best, but definitely something to watch if you don't what else to look for. That's all I can say.

This review will contain spoilers, however I will try to not put too much into specifics and just go over some details I've realized while watching this film.
Firstly, I think the movie is really good, and I think I would actualy recommend it to both longtime fans and newer fans; the movie has a fairly simple plot and I think it goes without saying that this movie is an enjoyable watch.
In terms of animation, this film pushes it into the 2.5 to 3d realm, so this film has an innovative look to it, not seen on previous DB films, were it was mostly 2D, thanks

to the latest technology being implemented into today's software. While it's not the most impressive form of the animation style. I think it's both easy on the eyes, and not too headache inducing nor distracting. Although considering Dragon Ball's previous animation changes. It did kinda caught me by suprise the first time I saw it. Not too bad, though. But If I'm being perfectly honest, I still prefer 2D to 3D. At least for my personal tastes.
Secondly, though, I'm going to be a bit harsh on it. While I can say those positive things, the characters are... "mid", I should say. For one, I do like the Z Fighters, specifically Gohan and Piccolo. I think that they are really intersting characters that can be put into very compelling situations and they have a lot of potential within them as characters in contrast to the more focused ones, namely Goku and Vegeta; as they became more of the main protagonists; so making Gohan and Piccolo the focus was a really nice touch, and the fact that that they faced off with an adversary that's very similar to someone they faced before, albeit more interesting than the current one, was a really great touch on their connections as both the guardian and his once young and inexperienced guarded kid to-now very mature and more composed man was a really great metaphor of how far Piccolo and Gohan has come.
That pretty much goes the same with anyone who recently had a growth spurt in this film, specifically Goten, Trunks and Pan. That being said, I did wish Goten and Trunks were used more? But I digress, it was enough for me to care about both of them, despite their limited screentime. Bulma? I thought she was fine, but her being a part of this story was a little out of place, and it didn't make me like her more, especially with the decisions she made during this whole thing. Pretty much.
Thirdly, though and this is probably the weirdest comment I'll have by far for this film, and that's the antagonists. You know, the fact that I don't even remember them that much speaks loads about their role as villains, so just for the sake of this review, I'll try to talk about them specifically like this.
I think Red Ribbon is a great concept for a villain army, but the fact that they were treated like losers the whole film is pretty much how they are and how I see them in this franchise. And because of that, any potential for them being compelling is really just thrown out the window. The main dudes who were running the whole "evil plan" pretty much were just fodder from the start. And it's not just because they were human, but it's because how they are characters, you have pretty much a multimillionaire and he has a bodyguard. And while they do have an "army", their forces weren't really interesting either.
And the main villain, is by the far the worst. Well, mostly I think I feel bad for the main villain. He's pretty just another victim of circumstance. Think of Bio-Broly but less of the stupid and dumb but more of the monstrous. Basically, what Broly was who was just another creation for destruction, he was pretty intimidating as a monster they had to face, though. But he gave me a lot of the vibes I got from Doomsday in Batman V Superman.
Despite being overshadowed completely by his successor, I do remember Dr. Gero from the DBZ series, and while I didn't see him either as a threat that much, I think he kinda became the catalyst for why the Cell Saga was initiated, I mean he was the inventor of the androids after all. Also, can we speak about how Android 18 is in this film, and it wasn't used to start off a somewhat intersting subplot or discussion even? I mean, what does she think of all of this? She's Dr. Gero's former creation after all? Also where's Android 17 even? Yeah, quite a bit of missteps with the direction there, tbh. But somehow I can understand why and I'll go back on that later.
But hey, I digress, despite that, I did like the new scientist and his other androids, I think that similar to Broly, them being new characters are still cool, even though as villains, they were also questionable. But I did like the whole dynamic that just like Broly, they realized that they were also fighting on the wrong side of the spectrum and were given a second chance.
I think that overall, this film 's saving grace was the dynamic between Piccolo and Gohan, and I think this gives Gohan a chance to shine, at least. To some I've seen comment about this film, it felt like a Z movie, and it did. It brought back the vibes that Z brought in, as well as the exact feeling from when the Cell Saga ended. As it did pretty much gave the exact same dynamic, giving Gohan the spotlight.
Going back to what I mentioned earlier though, the missteps with the direction is understandable. Mostly because I understood way earlier that they were focusing on both Piccolo and Gohan's dynamic right from the get-go. This way pretty much their story, for their development alone. But of course, like any other film, the villains could've been better. Thus, the story could have had more stakes on it. And this film would've been a lot better as a result.
Good film, though and do somewhat recommend. But don't expect this film to be a life changing event. That being said, it's still interesting what the future of Dragon Ball will be and I'm looking forward to it.

Hoo boy. Infinite Darkness. I'm a bit busy at the moment so I will keep my review short and simple this time.
This newest addition to the Resident Evil media franchise definitely has something going for it, well.. particularly the 2 notable protagonists Leon and Claire.
Leon in this one, definitely steals the show.. as he always has for nearly 23 years (at the time of Infinite Darkness' release). So my comments about him as well as Claire being in the mix.... I will set aside for the sake of this review being kept simple and short.
Now, for context, the story is set between the Resident Evil
...
4 and Resident Evil 5. With the story being intertwined right in the middle, not long after Resident Evil 4's whole plot. And it's before Resident Evil 5, with Chris being completely absent in this one.
Now.. to start off;
The animation in this are good, say.. for a few exceptions. See, I've been watching quite a bit of Resident Evil stuff recently, including but not limited to the 4 3D-animated movies that were made. This animation in this series was decent at best, but there are times when it feels like a bit more could've been done. Someone mentioned the walking animation being funny in this series, and I can definitely see why. Now, it's not that big of a deal nor is it a deal breaker for this new series, but with the franchise being as old as it is, I did expect a bit more in the animation department, but I digress, it is still a decent look especially for Leon's magnificent haircut. XD
The characters, with the exception of Leon and Claire, in this one were subpar, if I have to say. Without getting into too much spoilers, the 2 main characters in this series are definitely the highlight, but it became a bit of a disservice to the newly introduced characters. Jason was not bad, but Shan Mei, in my opinon, deserved better. Like I said, not gonna go into too much spoilers.. but I honestly wish the story was a lot better than what conceptualized here.
One confusing part about this series is the "villain", or should I say, "villains"... I'm not really sure what to use as a word. But one thing is for sure, the villains were below average to average. kind of disappointingly cliche; and I was kind of let down by that.
To be perfectly honest, I'd say Resident Evil fans will like the fact that Leon's in this one, and will give it a watch for him and Claire as well. But.. will be somewhat disappointed by the cliche and predictable plot it has. I wouldn't say it's bad, though. Although, I will say.. I would be lying to myself if I said I loved it. Also.. not to mention, why do I feel like this "series" would've been a bit better as a 2 hour edited movie than separated episodic miniseries.
Without any spoilers, I'd say this series is a bit of a welcome addition to the Resident Evil franchise. It was a bit meh, to be honest. Pretty average at best. But it does have an okay ending. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's definitely a somewhat fresh yet familiar addition to the franchise. If you're a new fan trying to get into the franchise, this might help you catch up. But I'll let you decide on that. Cheers! :)

Hoo boy. As you've probably seen in the latest reviews for this anime, this is a mixed bag. And I see it, heh.
As far as anyone else is concerned, the animation in this work is definitely top notch and without question, one of the better animated I've ever seen for a movie going for something of this aptitude. The music is also good, as it does pull you in with all the right things it's supposed to.
Here's where it all becomes a mess, the characters. Sometimes you'll agree with their sentiments and stances and forget that they're kids, but also sometimes, you'll suddenly realize
...
that they are, in fact, just kids
If you haven't seen the trailer, it's about a bunch of kids who "get stranded in the middle of the ocean while in a drifted building", on eminute, they're on the roof "playing", the next, water becomes their enemy. It definitely has vibes similar to the classic Zathura (the journey makes them reconcile and fix their differences), although I highly doubt that movie had influence in this one as this doesn't feel like an adventure, but more like a survival movie with a "hint of adventure", it's kinda.. confusing, actually. Maybe Life of Pi, yeah.
Going back to the characters tho, I don't hate any of them. But I do get the feeling some people who've watched this definitely felt differently than I did, and probably even more to the extreme. Considering the fact that they are, indeed, still kids with "kidlike personalities and thoughts"; they scream. A LOT. And argue, A LOT. And I thought that wasn't a problem, but it was over-the-top sometimes; as the movie makes you feel each characters' personality differently and separately, which is what the movie definitely was going for. But sometimes I wonder, if they really are friends. XD
The main character, most of all, is the biggest mixed bag out of all of them, as he gives me "Sasuke & Bakugo vibe". You know... the social outcast that hates everyone? Yup, that kind. He definitely has a sad backstory that explains it, but as an introvert myself that also hates everyone, I feel like his "annoyance" can be perfectly described as "wanting to be alone unless the person they really care about is in danger". I feel like they could've given him more heart as a lot of the times, he's either completly angry towards the girl MC or just everyone else in the group. I am fond of him, myself, but that's just a warning to anyone else who thinks he'll be as relatable as the aforementioned characters I compared him to. He's definitely a controversial character, indeed.
Nevertheless, this movie was better than I thought it was. After all, I watched this movie when I was completely bored out of my mind and not knowing what I really wanted to watch. I feel like if you're looking for a simple entertainment, this movie doesn't go "too deep" with the serious, but there's definitely a subplot here that relates to loss and fixing ruined bonds with people you did care about. Not only that, but it has messages about cherishing your overall memories, not just with people.. but with the places you've grown fond of as a youngster. As I'm sure we've all had those "sacred locations" we've put into special places in our hearts, be it either a former home, or school, or say, a playground people used to visit a lot.
And like I said, the animation's quality speaks for the movie's overall themes, if you like to somewhat revisit what it was like "being a kid with friends", this might become your fancy. I'll leave that up to you. Review out. :)

Growing up, my great grandmother that is still currently with us at the time of me making this review; she's essentially lived through the war when it was going on, and had to live with the hardships of that particular time period. She had to deal with the routine of hiding from soldiers. She went through all of that. Another interesting fact, I'm 1/8 japanese, and according to my grandmother from the mother's side, The japanese that met her mother, she wasn't able to know who that person was, but she did confirm to me that whoever it was, they were from japan. all that being said, one of my country's most significant historical period was with the 2nd World War, where we were almost colonized by the Japanese. So I've definitely had to reflect about World War 2 quite a whole lot, whether I was watching a movie about it; or seeing popular culture retell them in different ways, like in documentaries and stuff.
This anime went with the war stuff, and it went at it really hard.
One thing to know about this movie is the 2 notable characters, a boy and a little girl.
Seeing not just the war itself through their eyes, most notably through the 2 different characters was tough to watch, even to someone like me who's seen the worst of human tragedies in the past; it's really not nice seeing the aftermath of war, even if that battle was fought in bravery, and with victory in mind. It also doesn't help that people around them can be completely cruel. As one have said before, war makes men mad.
This anime can undoubtedly be a bit boring at times, think of the way Totoro dealt with this type of story, of perspective, specifically the idea of innocence itself, and how one can also be oblivious of the situation around them. But with war on top of it, and even add the "part of being optimistic in times of war"? Yup, that's the way this movie is, and in some cases it can be predictable with its message and visuals, especially if you've seen this type of story before and have only just watched it now, since this isn't the most original of all those stories (even if at the time, this was one of the first ones, which is exactly why I respect this movie for its message).
That being said, this movie isn't a "blast". Not for everyone. But it is a story that one can definitely appreciate if they want something more realistic that isn't sugarcoated. Just be prepared to feel the realism, because if you're easily affected, this movie can make you cry. just to keep in mind. Anyways, it's a must watch for the reasons I mentioned above. And If that's your cup of tea, go ahead.
After all, sometimes the realistic stories are interesting, because they let us know in our life that experiencing hardships.. aren't something we're facing alone and it doesn't matter which time period. Others have been through it as well, and it's perfectly fine to be sad about it. It's okay to cry. But always remember to keep your loved ones close for as long as you can, so that you don't have to cry anymore.
Anyways, give this a watch. I won't blame you, if you call it boring XD You just have to find out for yourself.

Wangan Midnight is an anime, that definitely got my attention the same way Naruto did. Video games.
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX+ was an arcade I've played unlike any other, similar to Akio in the first episode when he first discovers the Devil Z, it's the same as when I discovered this arcade game racing series, watching other skilllful players play against each other and just seeing the feeling of fun in their faces... it drew me. Initial D was an anime that drew me to cars and anime + cars specifically. But .. I've always thought Takumi was not that relatable as I thought he was, so while I can definitely appreciate Initial D's existence as a whole, Takumi was not the underdog, but.. I mean he was for a while, right? Before his car got upgraded by a racing team. Stilll love that anime tho, definitely a must-watch.
Akio Asakura was a character I never thought would be THAT relatable, I remember the first impression I had of him was terrible, as if he was a spoiled kid who never went to school, but he was addicted to something else. It definitely fit the time when I was having that impression however, as I was stil in college thinking about my future and didn't have a job, and have had experiences witnessing fellow friends and schoolmates basically "ruin" their lives by dropping out or having a kid at an early age. But now I've grown up, I really do see him now in a different light in retrospect. Soetimes .. something really isn't for you, even if people say otherwise, and you'd want do something else.
See, I work now for 8-9 hours, basically similar to Blackbird who uses his earnings to essentially upgrade his car, I played the arcades a lot and even buy video games from time to time, and while I can understand someone's perspective on why that's weird and that I should be thinking more about the future; Arcade machines, specifically the ones that I would like always drew me, my family would ALWAYS be weirded by it, but I didn't care, and similar to what hairstyle I had, I was drawn by gaming-related stuff. I mean, I'm the type of person that would rather play DDR or Pump It Up rather than go into an actual GYM, but that's a long story, it's basically just me not having enough time to go to a gym or exercise. XD But hey, that's how time works, ight? There are times when I would be contemplating playing a game for that day and how long, as well as watch movies, or anime.. but which first. XD yeah, I'm definitely getting old. And that's this anime is also about. How with taking a risk and growing up, you would have this sense of what's imoportant. Wangan Midnight exlpores that.
Wangan Midnight deals with this idea of one's future and one's present, what I really like about each introduced character is their own perspective as to why they race in the first place, albeit their own past memories, be it glorious or tragic. Not going into spoilers, of course. but when someone is driven by something, one has to discover their own path, and sometimes it's themselves who they will find. That's what this anime explores. The cars are admittedly secondary, because majority of this anime's focus are the mechanics that Akio will eventually meet, and how each one became what they were, as well as what they're still currently going for in their life, each one had their own regrets. Reminds me of Naruto Shippuden's characters. And that's what I like about anime. This anime is definitely reminding me of that. And compared to Shippuden's characters which have larger than life goals, Wangan midnight has relatable snd realistic mindsets.
If you are on a rest day from work, or feeling like you're lost in life, watch this anime from time to time, it will definitely remind tha yout age doesn't matter and in life, whatever you're driven by you can still go for it, you can still even this anime even if you're already a middle-aged man or a drop out in school or even unemployed.. we're all people regardless, and personally, these are the thoughts that go into my mind, after all, How about you?

This movie, according to some, had a generic story. While I can definitely see that, it doesn't take away from the bittersweetness of the whole thing in retrospect, and how it still affects you. It's moving, actually. The story moves you.
The only thing I guess, I didn't really like that much was not-so-subtle indication that it's similar to The Little Mermaid (the original one, not the disney one). They kept alluding to it during the movie, and i knew that at some point, it was going to be played out. A little subtlety does help sometimes when putting messages across. That being said, it's not

too bad, after all, it did get the message across. Lel.
Judging by the story itself, it's not original in terms of what kind of thing it's going for, I have definitely seen this story before just with different characters, or should I say, different character designs and names.
Without going much into spoilers, Uta and Hibiki did have a chemistry I liked a lot, when they're together, you can certainly feel their partnership, and you wanted to see more of that.
Art and others, there's not much there to say. I've always liked animation, in general. So this anime definitely left me speechless with that, though there are some instances where the angles got a little weird, and I definitely did not know where every single person was. So the animation is subjective, whether or not you like it, I did, just with a few comments about it.
All in all, if this was your first anime movie, you're in for a treat, it's a great start for you, especially if you haven't see an anime like this, or have never seen anime at all. Give this a watch. For fans who are familiar with how anime is, I still think this anime is a good watch, my guess is that you shouldn't really expect much from this one. Not because it's disappointing or anything, it just felt familiar, and it did feel somewhat predictable especially by the end of it, but I still think there's more here than what's on the surface.
Kinda like Bubbles.. yeah, something like that.

Sometimes you just watch a series and it leaves an impression on you. And sometimes, you expect it with some series you've heard were "really good".
This anime subverted my expectations. It decimated my expectations. I probably didn't have any expectations at all going in, actually. Yeah, now that I think about it...
Right from the get-go, with the opening, believe it or not, it's probably one of the most amazing anime openings I've ever seen in a long time. It is chucked full of easter eggs, but you wouldn't know from just watching it, it really does take watching the series sequentially to really understand what
...
the opening really means. Without spoilers, of course. It left me laughing, it was really great stuff. Reveal after reveal, it made for some engaging entertainment in its own weird way.
Without making this review way longer than it should be, in my opinion, Mob Psycho 100 Season 1, it was indeed a work of art. The animation was engaging and impressive, as well as action packed, and it leaves jaw dropped because of the sheer force and power these characters have. Characters may have their cliches, but that doesn't leave you with a dissappointment you might come to expect. No, no, no. Not here.
Main ones, aside, the villains were.. what they were, just like with OPM, I never really expected the villains to be way more than what they were aside from arrogant dudes who claim they were right. I always put Naruto as a comparison in a way, because villains here are often treated jokingly by the MCs, because of how absurd they are with their perspectives. Thankfully, they served their purpose and some weren't as bad as others. The others don't leave much of an impression, but they were intimidating with their abilities at the very least, and that's all I can say about them.
Enjoyment of mine is through the roof. See that roof? Oh wait, nevermind, there is no roof anymore, Mob probably destroyed it. Oh well.
In summary tho.. Overall, this anime is a great watch. It's hype, for sure, just like OPM. With popularity surrounding it and all that. But ONE definitely deserves it, without question. And set aside the things that you could complain about it, I do like this anime a lot personally. Give it a watch. Even by the end of it, Season 2 definitely is separated from this one. Go ahead, watch this. It's good.

When I was a little kid, dreaming about the world and its perfections. I was always watching Disney Channel, thinking about what they wanted to show me next, I was always waiting for the next big thing.
And then, out came Spirited Away.
When I first saw this, I didn't know it was an anime. I figured that it was just another piece of animation, made in a different type of art style. Hand drawn animation. And lo and behold.
Watching this movie felt magical, the moment Sen entered this world she found herself in, It felt like I was too.

own personalities even. You may not like some of them entirely, but that wasn't the point.
See, there comes a time when a movie doesn't even have villains in it. Maybe, there's a common enemy of sorts, but as far as threats go, some movies just have that person you disagree with, but not necessarily someone you wished death upon. This movie is one of them, and it has that.
The story itself in retrospect is a subjective one, some people find it mediocre. I find it fitting for the movie as well as the world itself, basically consistent within itself, a story you wouldn't switch into anything else. Not perfect, but oddly perfect in its own way, if that makes sense.
Art, Sound and visuals are out of the question. Ghibli, during this time at least, knows how to present something out of the ordinary.
As for my enjoyment, this movie was just as bizarre the 2nd time I watched it recently, as it was when I first saw it. Just like Sen, the moments in the movie felt like a dream, it was like with Sen in a way. Are they forgettable? Did I forget the movie for some reason?
But then, why haven't I forgotten the movie's title and everything?
These questions ruled over me, and eventually I knew. That this movie was a masterpiece.
Watch it for yourself and check it out for yourself. You may have differing opinions but I don't think that's the point here. After all, these movies are experiences, in order to really know, it has to be seen to be believed.

I'm gonna start this off by saying that in all my years of being a self-proclaimed "Studio Ghibli" fan, which you can thank my younger immature self for that, this is actually only my 2nd Studio Ghibli film so far. So, by all means, I'm not a Miyazaki defender, nor do I have completely bias towards them in any way. So my review will be completely in the middle.
Now, very few films have a "thing" or even "things" that make them completely enjoyable. Either, by the world, or characters, or story. That's all there. Princess Mononoke, to be honest, did start off pretty slow for

me, after all and without spoilers, the story was still all over the place, but it was still otherwise consistent.
Ghibli has a really great use of their art style, very few anime and studios have been able to replicate the feeling of "realism" and "beauty" of their art style. Presentation is important in this case, because you need to keep it all together, otherwise it would look pretty absurd and unrealistic. But that's not exactly why I like this one.
Characters in this one were also likable, realistic, and have their own personalities. They go by well together because they're intentionally funny to watch and they make sense given the situations they're in.
Sound? Top notch. Story? Subjective opinion, but still top notch. Enjoyment, through the roof. This is definitely an anime that's still cool to rewatch even after you've already watched it.
Based on my review, you may think that I'm overrating it or even overpraising it. But trust me, very few anime have been able to PULL you in their world and let you see it with your very eyes. This anime's world is vast and mysterious, as well as magical sometimes. But it's the type of beauty that only few can truly witness. In this case, however, you can view anytime you like, but tread carefully, for nature is always defending itself, and you have to respect that.
In my opinion, this movie did its job well. Don't be fooled by the title's simplicity, there's so much more here.
