Hello everyone you expected dio but it is i Will! I have been watching since 2012. I saw clips of the one piece marine ford battle and decided it looked cool. IN order to figure what the story was i started watching one piece and loved it. Afterwards came cowboy bebop, and trigun, etc. The reason my mal list has high scores is due the qulity that the various genres have like gundam(action) and niseoki(humor/romance).
My scoring system
1-4: total garbage, no redeeming qualites(boku no pico)
5-6: meh aesthetics, meh cast, meh plot (sao)
7: Most of the elements are fairly fleshed out, the plot is amusing to watch, and its aesthetically pleasing (eden of the east)
8:every story element is well fleshed out ,its aesthetically pleasing, and the plot is interesting.(Inari kon kon)
9: an original story or one that keeps you guessing and makes you experience emotional fits(berserk, gundam)
10: Anime that keeps you guessing, makes one experience emotional fits, and is aesthetically perfect(bebop)

Villain categories
For me, one of the most important parts of any show/movie is the characters, most importantly the villain. They are usually the driving force that propels the story into action, scheming and causing chaos for our hero(s). In my vast experience I’ve seen many different villains all with different traits. As my profile status, i enjoy shows for their varying qualities. The villain is a vital asset to this enjoyment. That is why have been categorizing them and wish to now share my system.
1. The “villainous ” villain
This category is represent the simplest form of villain. They are the type who is doing evil for the sake of evil with simple and short sighted motives (much like the dragon kidnapping the princess so he can eat her). A good example would be Biba from Kanebri of the iron fortress. The sole reason the show gives for his actions is that “I want to destroy daddy because he left me to die on the battle field” without giving any other information about the event.
2. The “Human” villain
This category is a more relatable villain (aka the sole survivor of a massacre). Magneto from x men is good example. They have very understandable reasoning for their actions and goals. A example would be Father from FMAB. He has very human goals and desires towards being able to live freely. His past is thoroughly explored as well.
3. The ideological villain
This category is an invincible and interesting villain ( aka the sith and their respective creeds). They are guided by a principle versus a goal. They represent an idea and are merely a follower. A perfect example is Makato Shisiso. His personal experiences have shown him that pain makes one powerful enough to survive anything. Given how the times are changing around him, he deems change necessary. He isn’t exactly wrong about the real situation.
4. The antagonist
The best villain is an antagonist. How do I differentate two words that mean the same thing? The greatest villain can still become predictable and shallow (aka Aizen). What I loved about Azien was how manipulated everyone without giving two shits. His plan was flawless and effective. He had the heroes struggling to keep up. Then he became hax and simple as all get out. That’s when the villain stops becoming a character and becomes a plot device. An antagonist on the other hand, is a mix of these archetypes. They are complex and layered while still being menacing.
While all of these types have different levels of depth, they can all be proper villains. Some shows utilize the simplest villain/etc to his greatest effect, others fail spectacularly. It all depends on your perspective and expectation whether they fail or not as an entertaining evil doer.
