Hound_of_Ulster's Anime Principals (collection rules)
1. no hentai
2. fansubs for unlicensed series ONLY (two exceptions)
3. no series over 60 episodes long (one major exception)
4. no 'harem' shows
5. as few OVAs as possiable
6. at least one representitative of each genre, except the two 'no-go' genres list in rules 1 and 4, must be in the collection at all times
These rules are self-imposed so that the collection doesn't get skewed towards the 'traditional' genres, quality is high, numbers of DVDs are low, and that the collection reflects how truly diverse, and yet how truly 'Japanese', anime is.

I just read your review of Armored trooper Votoms and wanted to know how you would compare it to Patlabor. I liked the Patlabor 1 & 2 movies, but disliked the tv series and mini file tv series. I liked M.D Geist, Gasaraki was boring but had cool mecha action (the little that there was), and Burst Angel had cool mecha action in a way, but horrible beyond the 1 or 2 min per episode of actual action. The mecha of Samurai 7 was cool as well. I am currently watching Armor Hunter Mellowlink and after 5 eps, I must say it has good and bad points. Overall I give it 1 6 so far. I know it's a spin=-off of ATV, but I want to stay away from any comedy, ecchi type stuff that Patlabor tv series had and wanted the more serious, action packed type. I don't like the roller-skating robot movements, but can overlook it. What's your opinion based on my likes or dislikes? Do you think I would like ATV?

You see, it would be really nice if there was at least one person supervising this club, yet since neither you or the other admin shows any kind of interest in this club, I think that you should either start paying some attention to this club or appoint as mod/admin someone who actually cares.

This a disgustingly late reply, but I can clear this up.
I never said I did not agree with you about France, though I don't, because if you really wanted to hate a country for their past then the obvious choice would be Nazi Germany, and not one of it's collaborators. All I wanted to point out was the irony of stating the you hated all forms of racism, and then later stating that you hated the French.
I have to say I am surprised by your hatred of any one country, seeing as I thought you ascribed to liberal viewpoints.
I usually find that many people hate France just for the novelty of it all. I'll ask why, and they'll say, "Well they are snooty and they hate America." That just isn't a good enough answer to me. At least you had an educated response, which I can respect.

Hello! I just had to say that I find it funny that in your dislikes section, you mention hating racists of any kind, and then go on to say you hate the French. While the French are not a race, they are still a heritage, and hating them is similar to hating black or hispanic people. Just saying. ^^

Hey. New to this but you seem like my kind of person. Hope you don't mind the friend request. I like unusual stuff too but you watch LOTS MORE anime than me. I don't have the time.
Don't you read any manga? That's kind of unusual for someone who's into Japanese culture I think. And you're interested in British history? I live in Britain (England). Don't know much about history though.
I came to visit New York in 1996. I thought it was really cool. I'd love to live there. There was an anime shop run by a couple of Chinese guys who sold bootleg videos. I bought a couple of Dragonball Z vids long before it was on TV in the UK or US. I'll shut up now. Please visit my profile!

HI! Just thought I'd drop by and say: You really rock for creating the LOGTH club. <3! I see you also watched ROV. I loved that anime too.
Would you mind recommending me some other anime classics to watch, that you thought were really good? As good as those two mentioned above, better, or even slightly close to their brilliance? -bows down before you in desperate hope- >.<
