For those who don't know, I am afraid of anime. Not part in due to the material itself, but rather those who associate themselves with them...

I am afraid to enjoy myself, to indulge in anime, out of fear I would meet people who would try and do everything in their power to hurt me again, out of fear my personal hobbies will drive others away from me...

If you knew about the people I've crossed paths with in my past, you'd be just as afraid as I am.

In truth, all I am looking for is a community that will accept me for who I am, regardless of my preferences or interests...

Bro you need to stop taking things so seriously. Just pick a cool anime to watch, lay back and enjoy it. Don’t worry about fandoms etc

well you gotta take a chance and find something you do enjoy to make life worth living. It doesn't have to be anime. Music or videogames are an alternative.

I was a dumb 16 year old who hadn't really watched gory movies like that at the time. I obviously don't think that anymore.
