Nice to see another person from the GTA on MAL. In fact, you joined 3 years before I did woah.

Yorozuya-no-Yume | 02-22-13, 9:56 AM
Would you like to join us? :D

Araby | 02-18-13, 10:44 PM
Oh okay, nice. Any idea on what you want to study this time around? And thanks!

Araby | 02-15-13, 9:33 PM
I totally forgot that I even wrote that, haha. I'm in Kingston/Oshawa at the moment. Parents live in Oshawa, finishing up undergrad at Queen's. Assuming I get into grad school, I'll be somewhere else in Ontario (or B.C) next year!

Did you do any post-secondary in Ontario?

don't worry about how long you take to respond! we all get busy and life happens. i'm in no rush so take your time. :)

yikes! the financial side of traveling can sometimes really weigh you down. if you really love the places you visit though, i think it's money well spent. sometimes the best things you buy aren't materialistic at all, but are rather abstract like new experiences and memories. they did some study where they evaluated how much "happiness" one got from purchasing a high dollar amount material item (like a brand new car or television) and compared it to short term consumable events of the same price (like vacations or drinking vintage wine). the results were somewhat surprising. people who spent more on vacations were happier than those with brand new cars. the logic being, once the car is gone, it's discarded and forgotten whereas people who traveled or took a vacation have an entire photobook of memories they can recall. anyways, i'm rambling. i'm glad you enjoyed the trip. :D

i checked out your flickr again. filo looks amazing. i'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but i really like the floral pattern on her outfit. it was a good choice for the "cherry blossom" motif you had going. same thing goes for that light pink blush she had on her cheeks. looks like you guys had a lot of fun, lol. i'm certainly seeing filo in a different light compared to my first encounter with her. she's much more feminine and gentle in this set. :P you guys could totally be the dynamic duo. you'll be a pro photographer and she'll be a pro model. you'll make buckets of money and be famous. you'll then remember who recommended you two to pair up and send him money (me). sounds like a plan? hell yes! :D and yeah, it's not a bad thing to go slow at all. you certainly don't want to spend $35,000 on a Steinway piano when you're first learning how to play, so i can see how that logic applies to photography as well. maybe he'll grow tired of photography and just give you all the equipment he bought? ;)

and thank you! you're pretty damn memorable yourself. after three years, i still remember how awesome your photos were. clearly you're doing something right, rofl. as for the youtube video, yes i still have the link. i just watched it...and holy crap, so much nostalgia flooded back. i can't believe it's been three years. :o

the_pillows | 05-08-11, 11:37 PM
first of all, thank you for your comment in regards to everything that has happened. it's been a rough two years or so. it's part of growing up i guess. you must have the patience of a saint because that blog entry was ridiculously long and you read it all. i need to send you an award in the mail or something. :>

i am so jealous of you right now. i've always wanted to visit korea (not north, south obviously) since i've seen a ton of korean dramas and always wondered what it was like over there. i especially love their traditional royal attire. the colors are so bright and beautiful. did you like the trip? you think it's worth spending thousands for the experience? i've always wanted to travel, but it would be a huge investment for me.

as for your photos...you need to take a bow. *applause* i really, really, really love the shrine. by far my favorite in that photo set. it's amazing how it's surrounded by darkness but the shrine's colors stick out in the middle section. that was a beautiful shot. i also checked out your other photo set. filomena really has a raw type of beauty. <3 hope you don't mind me stalking your flickr, rofl.

also, OMG @ price of your photography hobby...i didn't realize it was freakin' expensive. i'll stick to my crappy blackberry camera. :P btw, do you use any image editing to clean up your shots? or are those purely natural?

the_pillows | 05-08-11, 10:49 PM
hey, it's been a while but i wanted to drop by and see how you were. hopefully your photography skills have improved tremendously since we last talked on here. :D i remember you showed me some really nice photos you took a loooooong time ago.

ps, that bunny in your profile picture has ridiculously disproportionate eyes, but still is strangely adorable.

Sinful-Des | 04-10-11, 6:31 PM
Hiya! :D How's it going other fellow Canadian? :P
