Kingdom is a great anime. The first season CGI was pretty bad, but the characters and story really made up for that.

Season 2 the CGI is much improved and the story is just as great. Check it out.

I have mixed feelings. The excessive narration was a little bothersome, and I wish the scene with Netero attacking was shown much more quickly and without any dialogue. It would have had a lot more impact that way. The narration and slow-mo really took away from that.

Everything else (like Netero's backstory) was handled really well however.

I drool for you all day and night.

Apologies for the delayed reply.

I have to agree with you. There are lots of things the Japanese studios could learn from American TV.

As for things I would recommend, here are a few suggestions:

NCIS
The Big Bang Theory
Titus
Castle
Breaking Bad
Arrested Development
Farscape ( my all-time favourite sci-fi series)
30 Rock

There are also plenty of British shows that are worth a look

Being Human
Doctor Who
Sherlock
Misfits

There should be something on that list that you'll enjoy.

I like Toradora, from what I have seen of it; and it's on my to-read list. I have seen bits of School Rumble via DVD and find it rather cute as well.

I don't watch dubs at all. I'm just not used it, because anime is part of Japanese culture and I feel that it should be embraced to its original intent.

Frankly, I can watch an anime without subs because I can pretty much understand dialogue. I passed the highest language proficiency test in Japan due to my exchange. I'd still pick subs over dubs because the voices just sound more natural in Japanese.

Ta for that; but I am more into the realistic (not supernatural) and high-school-hijinx genre, as that is what I, as a novelist, write myself. :)

oh. :(
I knew a guy in SWG with your name.
Daedric Nov 7, 2012 12:22 PM
I see. Thank you and by any chance did you play an MMO called Star Wars Galaxies abbreviated SWG?
Smooched Oct 19, 2012 4:49 PM
Thanks a lot :)

You definitely need to check out Toradora!

Since you liked Mirai Nikki and NGE, you will like Guilty Crown. You also haven't seen Fate/Stay Night so add that to your list.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
