A deadly virus is spreading across mankind, turning humans into gruesome monsters known as "Kanshu." Yet no one knows of their existence, except for the organization called "F.L.A.G.," dedicated to hunting down and destroying the source of the infection. Its members possess extraordinary powers, capable of unleashing righteous fury on their enemies. One day, a cell phone message from a dead relative leads estranged youth Riku Amami unwittingly into the conflict between F.L.A.G. and Kanshu—and to a mysterious cocoon that would change his life forever, for better or worse...

I wanted to find some other mangas from Daisuke which are worth reading, and i found this one. You should give it a try if you like weird stories with interesting ideas, so i will get straight to the point.

[Story - 8]
World Embryo has story which is intriguing as many things are happening. The appearance of Kanshu(demons), jinki users and the organization they work for, and embryo from which a little girl is born, and also the main character and the message he got on his cellphone from his dead relative, who got in all of this. Everything in the story is connected deeply, but the read more

Very good manga. One of the beat I have read so far and probably will be for quite some time. I have been waiting for the chapters to come out everytime and I'm busting to read the next one ASAP once it comes out. (I even check every week to make sure)

Hope others will read it and hope once the anime comes out that you will watch it too.

The characters can get anbnoying at time but jump back afterwards
The art in the area of this manga is very good, well to me that is. The blood graphics are the best I'll ever see and are read more

I have only recently started reading this manga (i've never watched it) and i have already finished the published chapter.. still waiting for new ones.
i am not gonna right any spoilers because it might ruin your enjoyment. i really like this manga. The art is really great and almost perfect and the story is really interesting, i have have never read a manga so sad before.
This manga is full of sadness, despair, lies, distrust, suspicions, unfairness in life etc...
but it's the sad parts what make this manga so great. Even though the actual story is not realistic, the situations are similar to real read more

I have to admit this show isn't for people with weak stomachs (because of the err....graphic....art) but it is a very interesting story is quite enjoyable. It keeps you on your feet and keeps you wanting more. The art can be slightly confusing (I'm not sure if I'm on a bad site or not) The characters are unique (Daisuke Moriyama is great at that) and it's funny how awkward Riku is. Neene is very cute and lovable. This show (In my opinion) is second only to Chrono Crusade (another Daisuke Moriyama manga/anime!) Overall, it is a great manga. I hope that one day, someone will read more

Manga: Deadman Wonderland
Deadman Wonderland and World Embryo actually share very little in terms of plot except for in both cases the leading female character has a rather rough past. The main similarity is found in their tone, they both are what I would classify as "Dark Shounen" meaning they both maintain many of the qualities that make them shounen but have a much darker tone than manga like Naruto or the like. Another similarity is that in both manga you have a male MC who starts off weak but is extremely determined to rise up to the occasion.

Manga: Tokyo Ghoul
They have a somewhat similar premise involving supernatural as a certain type of "monster" exists in their perspective worlds. As such, an organization is created to hunt and exterminate them. The main male protagonist gets involved in an event that changes their lives forever. Throughout both series, they cope with this change albeit in different circumstances. Recommended for fans of mystery.

Manga: Freezing
They fight the aliens using weapons that have double-edges ..in Freezing they implants on themselves stigmata and on World Embryo they use jinki cores.

Manga: Kurozakuro
Both stories deal with an infection, an organization dedicated to defeating it, and the main character is an infected that does not go crazy like other humans. They have similar hairstyles too.

Manga: Hitsuji no Uta
Both are supernatural/fantasy (WE more so) stories that examine the obsession of a teenage/young adultish main character's love for a deceased one as it transfers to a "heir," the one who will resurrect the dead person's image. Lament of the Lamb provides a more detailed picture of immediate life for the characters if, upon realizing what's happening, the "replacement" character accepts his role; World Embryo kind of goes the negative direction, and has a more involved look at the consequences of the action (as necessitated by the plot; WE is more of a save the world type story) in terms of regret and  read more

Manga: Zennou no Noa
they both have main characters that strategically aim for their goal and behave very psyched... it gives off the same feel.
