Preliminary Spoiler

Phantom Seer is wasted potential if I've ever seen it. I cannot believe Weekly Shonen Jump cancelled this series and I can't understand why they did either. The story was literally just starting to pick up and get into the major stuff. We're talking intriguing villains, longer than usual battles where the good guys seemingly have little to no chance at winning, answers to questions we've had since the series began. We got to this point and then the series abruptly ends. I'll never get to know the cool looking villains that were teased. Not to mention, the art in this series was easily among ...

Preliminary (17/32 chp)
Still a very new manga, so far 17 chapters and 2 one-shots.
The story is very interesting and enjoyable even thought the story still building up to something, so far it's introducing the characters and a bit of action. I love the art style and how the demons/spirits looks so far, you can really see the dedication of the mangaka and omg I already have a new waifu (if you know you know LOL)

I give an overall 8 because even though it doesn't have that many chapters, it's really interesting plot, can't wait to see how the story develops. (i'm bad a t english xoxo)

Phantom Seer in a few words is like getting invited by your friend's birthday party and he promised a full-blown-out party with all sorts of food. Then the day comes and it is the second most disappointing day ever. The first being the day of your birth.

The story starts out promising, sort of a way to implement different kinds of unique stories which... never happened. It should have been the perfect way to focus on human nature disguised as phantoms. But nah, instead it focuses on the most uninteresting way possible. Instead of focusing on its strengths, it focuses more on the shounen formula. Which ...

[Very light spoilers ahead]

Story: 6.5/10
So we all know demons/curses are popular themes rn. Phantom Seer being one of the latest mangas of that sort, isn't very original but it does a good job at executing the theme. For such a small amount of chaps, the manga has a lot of info and large world building. Tbh I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing since all those text bubbles probably affected my enjoyment negatively. A few chapters had really captivating moments that got me thinking "Damn... that's pretty lit", for instance in chapter 3 ...

Two things i rly like abt Phantom Seer are the art and the MCs.

Art is rly great, i started reading this particularly for the art and i stayed bc of Iori, the MC. He's kinda a drama queen and actually a kind person deep inside. I love the fact that hes not that typical weak MC at the beginning who want to save everyone despite how stupid the situation is. Iori is super strong since the start of the manga and he has that actual self-aware of the situations where he should plan for each move, not just jumping in and using the muscle and ...

Mixed Feelings
While I do think it was promising , I do understand why it got axed .
I feel that the story past chapter 20 became a lot more focused and was way more enjoyable than the first 20 chapters .

My problems with those first 20 chapters were as follows

1st The power system is not expained very well and some power ups feel unearned .

2nd Although the writer tried to make the main character unique with a certain character trait which I feel made the story have more unessecary dialogue and was just not executed well and furthermore I feel that it was retconned by ...

Preliminary (18/32 chp)
This manga is still in it's early stages, and hopefully it survives and doesn't get axed, as I see a lot of potential in this series. I have been reading weekly ever since the series started, and I find that it keeps getting better, so that is a good sign for it's future for me.

Story - 7
I'd say that it is currently at a 7, but it does have potential to increase as I have been really enjoying the Kanzaki arc. From the beginning it was interesting to me, and I feel like if the series survives and starts getting longer arcs, the writer will ...

Preliminary (27/32 chp)
Phantom seer, at first taste, seems like a potential candidate for the illustrious title of: "the next big thing." But, as the last 5, or maybe ten chapters have come and gone, the buildup provided (the very build up that made me excited about this series) has been squandered by generic, garbage, and an utterly boring moment (which might not be able to be considered just a moment, because it's last for over 5 chapters).

This series, if it get axed in the near future, will be eliminated all because of this one fight: the dollhouse fight, which is still going on, despite me cringing ...

Phantom Seer is a series that comes back into my mind every so often as I browse shonen jump, and I just get reminded how it should have never been cut off the way it was. Sales were great, story was very promising, but for some reason or another, the series had to get the axe. After hearing it got cancelled, I just felt like something perfect was taken away. The art in this series in absolutely incredible, with some super creepy monster designs and really good character and world building. It's only 30 chapters, so a short read but I would still recommend it ...

Preliminary (18/32 chp)
The demonic setting of Phantom Seer reminds one of many previous Shounen hits like Bleach, Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen, so maybe its not extremely original in this aspect. The story is quite decent but nothing overwhelming. That shouldnt stop you from reading this series because while it has some story weaknesses it still strongly supported by the humour of the characters and their interactions.

Iori the main protagonist is interesting in that sense that hes not quite motivated in being the hero, more the opposite at the beginning while other Shounen heroes are unrealisticly over enthusiastic everytime. Thats what I found relatable in him that ...

When you find out about about these kind of manga and find out it has been axed by it's publish company, totally wasted opportunity. Phantom seer could have been definitely potential anime. It has all these charm, that requires a show in shonen genre. Story was neither bad nor a masterpiece, but concept of the manga definitely had strong plot, that could have take it to a new level. Hope it will get a second chance.

The most praising thing about this manava is it's art. In the drawings of characters, you can easily distinguish characters doesn't look same like in some of other manga does. ...

Phantom Seer was a very promising manga, but alas the volume sales and reception were not good enough for Weekly Shounen Jump and the series was axed.

Phantom Seer has very good character designs and the action scenes look very clean aswell. The plot was rather basic as are most exorcist series, but Phantom Seer managed to stick out because of its funny MC and great side characters. The main villain was very interesting and the characters were mostly interesting, but a lot of the characters end up as lackluster and wasted because of the sudden end of the series. The ending itself was also ...

First of all, when you see it only has 30 chapters in the Shounen Jump, you may think it got axed. This may be true, but I’m quite sure it wasn’t because it was bad and the volumes sold very well. So there must be another reason for this cancellation, which we may never know. But is it read worthy? The answer is, definitely yes, BUT be aware it’s ending comes out of nowhere. This means, if you are not ready for an incomplete manga, then don’t read it.

- Story (6/10):
The story is kinda like a mainstream shounen like. We have our male protagonist (Iori) ...

6.5/10

So I was hearing a lot about Phantom Seer and the fact that it was cancelled ,so I decided to give it a go.

After these 30 chapters I would be blind ,if I didn't notice the series' huge potential.
The story seemed really interesting and I firmly believe that it would be really good if the manga was not axed.

The characters were pretty likeable and fascinating and there was a unique charm on their abilities.

The art was fantastic , I would argue that it was probably one of the best among the weekly manga series.

I think that this was a very frustrating axe for most of us. Phantom Seer was a good story, with great characters, and superb art and design. And apparently, very good sales - which is what makes this axe so damned puzzling.

My best justification for the axe is that Shonen Jump is a team sport. Everyone has important roles to play - the ace, the battle shonens, the romance, the sports manga, the ecchi, the romcom, the gag manga, etc.

Phantom Seer played the same role on this team as Jujutsu Kaisen, and had peers in adjacent positions that had a setting of Japanese ghosts and ...
