Although he's away from home and living on his own, Takemoto is far from finished growing up. The artwork is similar, and even though it isn't a shoujo-ai manga, it's still, well, shoujo. Michiko reminds me of a combination between Morita-senpai and Tekemoto and Natsuki is kind of similar to Hagu.

Sweet innocent pure love. A lot of hidden meanings from characters' action. Friendship being the main focus.
Similiar style of story.

May 6, 20081 of ? chapters read 12 of 17 people found this review helpful Honey & Clover is a good romance title that is full of comedy that is both well-thought out and funny while maintaining an equally impressive display on the romantic front.
Honey & Clover's story is better than most standard shojo fare. The story is filled with romance/comedy that creates a good balance of mature drama while keeping the story funny. This balance is done very well. The story may be hard for some to follow because the love triangles in the series can get a ...bit complicated but its nothing that most romance fans can't handle. The story portrays love very accurately in that it deals with the topic of letting someone down very well which is a main aspect of the romantic themes in the series giving it a very realistic appeal and tone. Honey & Clover's art can be hit and miss for some. Its very light and wild looking, but some might like this more than I did. The art is unique and it strengthens the comedy in the series by making it even more over the top. Honey & Clover has a really great cast. Each character plays a large role in the series and they are all unique to themselves. The characters really drive the series and its in the decisions that they make with each other that makes them really seem realistic. The characters are better than characters in most other manga series. The manga is very enjoyable and that is what really counts in a series like this because the romance has to mix perfectly with the comedy, and in Honey & Clover it does. In the end Honey & Clover is a solid shojo title with a little bit more to offer to fans than most series.
Honey & Clover is a fun romance/comedy series that accurately portrays the many aspects of love, from acceptance to let downs Honey & Clover is a highly above average shojo title. Recommended. read more
