Going for 25 episodes without expecting any stills is a crazy thought. |

Not really. Go watch some Jojo bizarre adventure, you'll see some entire episodes of stills. Now I can understand that the first couple of episodes were crazy good animation is why people are complaining about the sudden change in quality. But unfortunately that's probably a marketing strategy so I wouldn't get your hopes up for the rest of the series. |

| Well stills are inevitable is the unfortunate truth with how fast anime is chucked out. They probably were limited in earlier episodes so it could make a strong first impression and people would continue to watch and buy the series. A shame but inevitable in most series. |

| Great episode. I had to synchronize myself with Mikasa when she rushed to Eren, very nice and emotional scene. *tears* And of course let's not forget Armin, ggwp. |

| The stills haven't really bugged me much so far, but that part in the middle of the episode was really bad. Like 2 minutes of dialogue with nothing but a couple stills and panning. I hope they are planning on at least adding a little animation there. The rest was great, though. |
| as i feared the animation will not be consistent and only episode 1 so far has an awesome quality, still the Eren X Mikasa scene was done in sakuga animation so thats cool, and next episode we will see bad ass Levi finally |

| With one "still" exception and going a bit overboard with Jean's close-ups, it was an awesome episode! Jean's monologue I hope finally would help people understand better what means to fight the titans face to face, and it should be reasonably considered, given it comes from the man, who usurped the standard for realism. Anyway, first things first: Armin changes the dire situation by capitalizing the appearance of the new reification of humankind: Some Titans Works - awesome, Titan CanCan, DAT Payback, and revealing (at last): Annie, because she is next to drop dead gorgeous: Marco and Jean (a seeded tribute): Mikasa's world is going to be totemo utsukushii again:  I'd rather prefer the scene with the three of them, this one is no less touching: 18/5 |

| Seems like it's doing pretty much what I said in the previous episode discussion. Maybe it was just me but it felt like they extended the scene where Sasha failed to kill the titan. |

| I'm okay with them using stills for unimportant scenes like walking down stairs or filling up the gas tanks. I do think they were used way too much in this episode, though. They ruin the viewer's immersion in the world. |
| That slow mo punch when Jean was looking at the titans probably ate up a good chunk of the budget lol. You could see the flesh on the titan's face RIPPLING from the force |

| Animation quality dropped a lot this episode, quite a few stills used too. The scene when they had just broke into the storage complex and you see titan Eren's fist punch the titans away from building through a gap in the wall had so much more impact in the manga too. I was looking forward to them doing a good job of animating that but it felt lacking, other than that a pretty decent episode 4/5 |

Bit of a screwup, Eren's titan body suddenly got its arms back out of nowhere when it's supposed to be evaporating. In the previous shot when it fell they were clearly gone. |
