| The animation is quite retro but good. This was a great episode. I finally got my hands on this series so I'm going to watch it. :D |

| I actually like the anime better than the manga with Rurouni Kenshin. The first episode made me laugh. I like this episode. I've always wondered how Kenshin was able to get out of the shed with the door locked. |

| That was incredibly visually appealing I must say! I had low expectations going into this series, but I think I have already been won over by the fine action sequences and unique artwork. It's nice to see a shounen with at least some level of maturity to it, they are so hard to come by. It does seem rather violent for a shounen, but that's just the way I like 'em. Can't wait to see how this series will unfold. |

| Guys three things 1) Kenshin does look like a girl, so Watsuki added a scar 2) If you hate Kenshin's voice, I can understand why. It takes time to get used it to though and it does flow natural 3) Yeah it's retro, but it maintains the author's penmanship. It is at least 15 years old. |

| man rurouni kenshin... that takes me back lol this was an ok episode, give it a 3 rurouni kenshin is a series with comedy so they had to make kenshin goofier in comparison to the ova (which i loved too) where he was much more serious and you could easily see his emotions (sometimes) |

Re watching this after a good many years, oh man the nostalgia. ^^ |
| Finally I find a real classic series that is real about samurai and the philosophy of the sword. Not to mention, a fun and lively atmosphere to go with it. ^^ |

| I didn't expect it to be something I'd enjoy, but I quite enjoyed the first episode. Kenshin is the cliche act like a clutz but end up being super serious badass tough guy, but that's fine because he's cute too.  |

| I love Kenshin! I watched quite a few of the episodes many years ago but I only had access to the first 20 episodes or so. It was one of the first anime that I watched. Recently I have felt like watching this series again, this time from start to finish. It's just as good as I remember, it has a great atmosphere. The fact that Kenshin is always around to protect Kaoru and the others brings this sense of comfort. It's hard to put the feeling into words, but you know you can always rely on him. |

| Read the manga years ago, now its the anime's turn. Didn't expect Kenshin's voice to be that girly... it's even breaking at times :/ Honestly didn't remember the beginning to be so contradictory. The sword school that does not hurt people... Swords exist to save people... If you think about it, if the father had killed the false Battousai instead of just breaking his thumb, there wouldn't have been any incident to begin with. Might be a bit light-hearted after all those years, but we'll see. |
| Good episode. However, I wish they would have left Hiruma Kihei in the story and dispensed with Genzai and the granddaughters. They simply aren't necessary. At any rate, if you can survive the admittedly pedestrian Tokyo Arc, the Kyoto Arc is way more epic in scope, with far less of the XD comedy. |

| I watched several episodes of this series in English dubbed around a decade ago. Never got to finish it thanks to my local TV station who stopped airing it. I'm watching this now, English subbed, from start to finish. Kenshin's Japanese VA needs some getting used to. |

| Pretty lovely start I must say, a lot of people recommended me this one and well I do wonder what it will offer. The first episode sure came strongly over already so that's pretty nice. A great combination between action and comedy, as well as the character introduction was really key here! All in all a very good start, looking forward to see what this anime has to offer! |

| Kenshin was so cute and goofy in this ep. Always love him! Still remember how pleasantly surprised I was the first time I watched the 1st ep and got hooked. Bishounen, comedy, action & romance all in 1, what more can you ask for? |

| Picking this up after watching it way back on Toonami. It's a little different than I remember. I wasn't how much I would like it, but I do. The art is pretty nice, and I liked the design of the bad guy in this episode. The plot of this one also flowed pretty well. Gonna keep watching. Also, I have to say the English dub is weird; the show is already similar to Trigun, and they cast the same actress for Meryl and Kaoru. |
