It has been announced that the online manga "Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku", about 5 high school girls in a "go-home club", will be adapted into a TV anime series which will air from July. The manga has two volumes published so far. Staff and cast information will be announced later.

Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku on MAL

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Actually I just read the manga on its site, it is less about cuteness than strong focus on gags based on tsukkomi and boke on random subjects. Of course as in all slice-of-life works, there is always the presence of both cuteness and jokes, but I think here the gag part is sharp and heavy, making it a bit more like Joshiraku than say K-On.

I hope it's a gag anime.

Gag anime are enjoyable, I don't care if the characters are school girls, buff guys, purple people eaters.

Funny gag anime are always nice. Here's hoping it hits the right notes, I'll look into it though.

Let's see if this number will increase.
There is like 2 weeks delay in my recent reading list
I randomly bought discount/second hand manga with cute/mysterious cover.

Use Personal Blacklist extension in Chrome if you just want to Google for a series synopsis, without google slapping MAL score in it.

I'd guess the low number of readers is due to lack of scanlations as opposed to any sort of accurate reflection of actual quality.

I'm sure scanlations will arrive soon after hearing of an adaptation, it seems to happen that way a lot.

(Space Bros had like 10 chapters out over months before the anime started despite having run for like 10 volumes at that point, now the scanlations are up around 100)

Ack, I love gag anime, but that sounds like a 5-min anime formula. The closer they get to a straight flurry of gags, the more likely it is to only last 5 minutes. With exceptional exceptions like minami-ke, and azumanga.

I can't keep track of all these girls in high school/clubs adaptations.

They really only interest me if the atmosphere feels similar to Nichijou.
Then again there's was Kill Me Baby which was similar to Nichijou except not good :s

When a friend asks Natsuki what high school club she's going to join, she cheerfully responds "the go-home club" (meaning, she's not going to join any of them). However, she soon realizes that this club actually exists at her high school, and she's just expressed interest in joining it! Before she knows it, she ends up as one of the two new members of "the go-home club," which is a small group of eccentric school girls. One of the girls likes fighting bears, while another is ridiculously rich. But what exactly constitutes the activities of "the go-home club"?

Fun fact: Azumanga was originally aired daily in 5-minute chunks before being compiled into a full 25-min episode at the weekend.

Anyway,if it's a short thing I probably won't watch. Also, I suppose it would be best to shorten the title to "KitaKat" or "KitaKiro" in the event it actually becomes popular enough to be widely-discussed, as the problems with shortening it to "KKK" are all too obvious.

The fact is your complaining sounds more like whinging than proper criticism though, and that is the real pointlessness.

Here's to hoping that the entire premise is actually a sucker-punch, and that the actual plot revolves around manly Bear vs High School Girl combat, complete with buckets of sweat, badass finishing moves, tragic deaths, the f***-mothering FRIENDSHIP and Earth-shattering ka-BOOMS...

And there's quite a few from this season, too. I'm starting to get tired of this recurring "school girls and club and random events" theme.
If it's just a series of short duration, then I'd probably watch it.

I wonder if you actually read the manga or not before writing the above? At least I checked the manga after reading the news and it seems that the main thing in the manga is some comedy routines that won't feel out of place for "warai kei" Japanese stand-up comedians. Is it what you call "moe things"? Is it original?
