So am I, but we might get our wish, if the LN is over, they may consider finishing up the adaptation as well.

It would be nice. However, season 2 didn't sell nearly as well as season 1 did and I imagine Silver Link really wants a big hit and soon, considering their titles haven't moved a lot of copies in the last four years.

On the other hand, Baka and Test, even season 2, sold significantly better than most of their other shows. My guess is that a studio looks at other factors besides disc sales when choosing to animate a project.

Because if that's not the case, then why on earth hasn't KyoAni animated the third season of Haruhi?

10k-19999 sales (note: figures and ranks likely to be highly inaccurate)

*Disclaimer: novels, manga etc. have very significant long tails. This can be clearly seen this week with Toshokan sensou re-ranking after 8 months out of the list, and more than 7 years after its initial release. In that 8 month period it has gained more than 100k unrecorded sales. The lower on the rankings and the longer it's been since the series charted, the less likely it's figures will be.
You can expect any series on this list to have sold an average of at least a thousand copies per week since it last ranked.

gin no ryukishidan 7 is marked (?) as the figure posted seems to be erroneous.
It is assumed that the rankings are incorrect for juuni kokuki, not the figures.

Durarara not only on the list but rank #1 for the week.

That is the 1st week for the newest novel. That volume had sold 133564 copies by 18th Nov last year.

And did you pull out all these from the threads and typed it or did you get it from a certain site? Because if it's the former then that's a lot of work. Thanks for this I guess.

It should make it easily this week (Apr 8~14), since SAO v12's release date is Apr 10. I agree that it'll take at least its 2nd week of charting to overthrow Index... looking at how v11 and SAOP v1 sold.

Thanks for the correction. And yes, I gathered the info from these threads. I started doing it at the start of February (when I took data from Dec 31st onwards) because I wanted to see what proportion of sales we get to see in these threads (which I/we will be able to tell once we get the yearly list), as well as to keep track of roughly how well each series was doing, and to provide a place to get figures from if necessary. It generally only takes about 10 minutes a week, though it took longer this week due to me having to put it into a format that could be posted on this thread.

It came out on 30th March so that's only 2 days of sales. It will almost certainly get a second week on the rankings, and there's a good chance that it will be higher than this first week was.

I continue to be amazed by the popularity of Sakamoto Desu ka.
Hibi Chouchou! 27k!

Since we are on Light Novel sales,
The previous volume of Kokoro Connect sold around 24k or 26k by the 2nd week and before anime I only saw it on the list for the first week and usually around 10,000(a few times 9k+, almost 10k even for volume8).
Hopefully this volume will continue to hit around 24 or 26k.

If I didn't remember wrongly, past few volumes of Onii-ae sales is 30k+ by the 2nd week. So, Im somewhat disappointed. I think there's 1 or 2times it hits 37k.
A huge drop for Hentai Ouji as compared to the previous volume. I think the sales was around 40k+ or almost 50k by the 2nd week.

Previous volume(or the 1 before) of Date A Live started with 22k in the first week. So, I was expecting it to be around 5-6k for the 2nd week.

Can't wait to see the boost for Hataraku maou-sama after the anime. Hoping it to be at least 40k~ or almost by the 2nd week. Sales for the past few volumes has been somewhat consistent...

Nice to see RDG: Red Data Girl on the list too.

Either the numbers or the ranks are the wrong way round there.
Vol.2 should be 21,417 instead. Sorry.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

14, 11,949 *,*16,811 RDG: Red Data Girl Vol.5

That looks like an anime bump but what about the rest of the volumes? I know several were nearly out of stock when I last checked, Volume 5 is not the most recent and came out ages ago.

There's two different versions:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4041100399 is the original version which came out in 2011
http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4041007526/ is a new one which came out on 23rd March
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

The new version of RDG is the bunko format which is considerably smaller (and usually thinner) than the tankoubon format (which is the one that came out in 2011) but is also cheaper. While conventional novels usually start with the tankoubon format and shifts to bunko after a while if the novel proves to be popular enough, light novels (which RDG is not) usually just start with the cheaper bunko format, perhaps in order to attract teenage consumers who have less money to spare.

BTW, kuuderes_shadow, how to get the shorter amazon url links instead of the ones with long Japanese text in it?

Ahh, I have the hard cover editions... only way I could get 6 of the same type in stock at the same time LOL

Just keep the dp/# and dump the rest to create short links. The number is all that really matters.

amazon.co.jp/dp/
then add the number that follows the dp/ which is around the middle of the long link.

Eg the haruhi boxset goes from
http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%B6%BC%E5%AE%AE%E3%83%8F%E3%83%AB%E3%83%92%E3%81%AE%E6%86%82%E9%AC%B1-%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AC%E3%82%A4-%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%97%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88-%E5%88%9D%E5%9B%9E%E9%99%90%E5%AE%9A%E7%94%9F%E7%94%A3-Blu-ray/dp/B003UTS85C/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1365436938&sr=1-1&keywords=haruhi
