The Wrestler - I watched it cause I somewhat like Mickey Rourke. It ended up being a really good movie. He played that part so well, I honestly didn't expect a movie about wrestling to be good because I've never liked professional wrestling.

I watched Rain Man today and it was great, I'd give It a 9/10. My love for Dustin Hoffman has increased. If that's even possible.

Just watched The Act of Killing

It's depressing and uncomfortable. Really an odd concept I think, but it worked so well. Probably the best documentary I've seen, but just awful.

Recently saw Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) and it's what you'd expect. Didn't realize that the emperor was Li Mu Bai until I read up on the cast, although I thought he looked familiar. Should I be ashamed?

Finally got around to watching 12 Years a Slave. Very well shot and really good story and acting. Really dark too with good music to complement the tone. A lot of very hard to watch moments (noose scene). All around a great movie. 9.4/10

Lawn Dogs: Overlooked film, quite clever and intense. I only disliked the finale. Sam Rockwell was superb and Mischa Barton was lovely. 7/10
Basic Instinct 2: Only watched it for David Morrissey, and Jesus, the fanservice was glorious. Movie's the average thriller, not that bad. 6/10
Margaret: A boring, illogical and useless waste of time. I love Anna Paquin, but her character was very irritating, as the whole movie. 5/10

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. I thought it was a great movie, old school anime fell to it. Enjoyed the plot line, loved the themes. would recommend this movie, even got my sis to watch it.

Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind: Kind of disappointing, pretty slow and dry at parts. I expected more humour and rhythm. The "double life" aspect was underdeveloped on the CIA killer side, so the movie was mostly focused on the showman activities (didn't really see the "dangerous mind" mentioned in the title). A fairly good film, especially considering it's George Clooney's directorial debut, but could have been much more memorable... Compared to Sam Rockwell's acting, it's below par, and without him, it would have been boring. 7/10

Can we have Emma-Stone-but-with-red-hair-this-time play Mary Jane Watson in the next film, please?

Choke. Story of a sex-addict, played flawlessly by Sam Rockwell. Comedy, drama, romance. Great movie, esp. the ending. 8/10

I recently finished Pokemon the 3rd movie. It's tough but I think this is my favorite one out of all of them. The unown by themselves were terribly interesting but the dreamland-esque phenomenon was what made me fall in love with it.

The Conjuring (2013)

Pretty standard horror affair, but for some reason I feel it's one of the better contemporary horror films we've had in awhile. I'm a sucker for adaptions loosely based on historical things though-- especially with the supernatural.

In Their Skin

It was decent but my only problem is the fact that it was filmed in muted tones. So not quite grey-scale but definitely washed out enough to drain the soul.

I'd say that the hype is deserved, the movie has a great cast, VA, and has a good storyline. 8/10

Watched Shawshank Redemption for the 1038298920th time the other day. Still as good as before. Morgan Freeman is a really good actor and the plot has such a satisfying conclusion.

Welcome To Collinwood: Nice comedy with a proper cast. Pretty good and funny. I'm becoming a huge Sam Rockwell fangirl. 7/10
Book Of Blood: Clive Barker's source material is interesting enough; the flat, unimpressive execution ruins it. A shame. 6/10
X-Men - First Class: A disgrace to the saga. Atrocious acting, generic plot, no heart and little action. Overhyped as fuck. 5/10

+ rewatched Very Bad Things, Midnight Meat Train, and Velvet Goldmine. Love 'em.

Had a marvellous night watching Amazing Spider-man 2 and X-men DOFP (pun intended).

Amazing Spiderman was ok for Electro, but wasn't impressed by the Goblin.

X-men really impressed me. Glad to see all the sources they drew material from. Wish Bishop had a larger role though, as the story was originally focused on him.

In the cinema, I don't even remember. Probably Desolation of Smaug last year, lol. I meant to go see Amazing Spiderman 2 but I'm too lazy. I know what happens anyway.

At home... either Under the Red Hood or Nausicaä. Both are recent, anyway.

Feast: Very enjoyable horror movie. Blood-drenched, gross, original, unmerciful and funny. 7/10
Pump Up The Volume: Wasn't anything special. Forgettable movie, but I like Christian Slater's old roles. 6/10
Conviction: Sooo boring. Typical drama/slice of life feels. I went through this only for Sam Rockwell. 5/10

I watched Police Story (2013) last Saturday. It was very weird, watching a Jackie Chan movie without all the stunts. As for the movie itself, it was decent but the motive behind the "hijacking" was rather stupid.
