cabin in the woods, a pretty funny comedy that pays a nice homage to horrors throughout the decades, its one of the rare horrors comedy or not where the main character is the really likable character, also what they do with the
was super well handled, had alot of laughs and it was just really enjoyable from start to end, definitely put it up with scream and shaun of the dead as the best horror comedy movies

Better Living Through Chemistry: Sam Rockwell rules! Great cast, nice plot, poor execution. This comedy entertains but never delivers. 6/10
Elysium: Clichè and generic action/sci-fi story, and Matt Damon's acting doesn't help. It's not as atrociously shitty as District 9, at least. 5/10
Ghosts Of Mars: Probably Carpenter's worst. No different from those sci-fi/horror B-movies you randomly catch on TV. 4/10

Well, Captain America is a very bland superhero flick. There are far better ones around.

Dracula's Daughter (1936). It's super ridiculous and hammy but I didn't mind. I liked the idea of a vampire trying to turn human, although they never explained how she came into being.

Also, the vampire countess' lusting for ladies so she can drink blood and kidnapping of Janet was so horror!Sappho, I loved it. VAMPIRE LESBIANS LOOKING FOR LOVE AND HUMANITY IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES.

The sword in the stone. One word describes that movie: Boring. Where was the plot? Developed characters? Uprising villain? No, that movie had none of that. It was a poorly written movie that just jumped from one scene to the next. Everything was jumbled and happened too quickly. To put it simply, there was no real plot. The characters were one dimensional and flat, didn't interest me at all. My eyes were forced on the screen, because I though maybe, just maybe something great would happen. I expected the villain to save the movie but that abomination just caused my opinion to go ten-feet under.

Madam mim, the villain, had nothing to do with the plot. She appeared out of know where, caused this "problem" and the left. She was a total fool even though I was hoping to get a badass villain since the original story had badass characters. Instead she reminded me of a crazy drunkard. So much for that.

Overall the movie failed. I'm never watching that again.

Divergent. It was alright. It wasn't as good as the book. They left out awesome parts, where I liked the most. Looking at the trailer, I expected better since the trailer looked a lot like how the book went.

That movie shouldn't have been made.

Exactly. Some people who didn't read the novel are like "omg this movie was awesome!" Yeah, no. Seriously where was the action. The characters they chose were horrible. They stressed out the fact that Tris was short so many times in the novel, and she's taller than other characters she should be shorter than. Also Four or whatever his name was. He looks NOTHING like they described him. Seriously he's supposed to have dark hair and such. The movie in general was horrible. I was so disappointed.

It's like those Percy Jackson "fans" who have only watched the movies.

Screw the damn movies, the books are better. Don't judge a series by the crappy adaption. Though LOTR movies are an exception.

I saw Noah yesterday with a friend of mine. It was good but nowhere near Aronofsky's best. At the very least it's nice to see a film that was clearly made with very few constraints, Aranosky was clearly allowed to go nuts and do whatever he wanted and that really shines through.

7/10

It's depressing and uncomfortable. Really an odd concept I think, but it worked so well. Probably the best documentary I've seen, but just awful.

Recently saw Curse of the Golden Flower (2006) and it's what you'd expect. Didn't realize that the emperor was Li Mu Bai until I read up on the cast, although I thought he looked familiar. Should I be ashamed?

Lawn Dogs: Overlooked film, quite clever and intense. I only disliked the finale. Sam Rockwell was superb and Mischa Barton was lovely. 7/10
Basic Instinct 2: Only watched it for David Morrissey, and Jesus, the fanservice was glorious. Movie's the average thriller, not that bad. 6/10
Margaret: A boring, illogical and useless waste of time. I love Anna Paquin, but her character was very irritating, as the whole movie. 5/10

Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind: Kind of disappointing, pretty slow and dry at parts. I expected more humour and rhythm. The "double life" aspect was underdeveloped on the CIA killer side, so the movie was mostly focused on the showman activities (didn't really see the "dangerous mind" mentioned in the title). A fairly good film, especially considering it's George Clooney's directorial debut, but could have been much more memorable... Compared to Sam Rockwell's acting, it's below par, and without him, it would have been boring. 7/10

I recently finished Pokemon the 3rd movie. It's tough but I think this is my favorite one out of all of them. The unown by themselves were terribly interesting but the dreamland-esque phenomenon was what made me fall in love with it.

The Conjuring (2013)

Pretty standard horror affair, but for some reason I feel it's one of the better contemporary horror films we've had in awhile. I'm a sucker for adaptions loosely based on historical things though-- especially with the supernatural.

Welcome To Collinwood: Nice comedy with a proper cast. Pretty good and funny. I'm becoming a huge Sam Rockwell fangirl. 7/10
Book Of Blood: Clive Barker's source material is interesting enough; the flat, unimpressive execution ruins it. A shame. 6/10
X-Men - First Class: A disgrace to the saga. Atrocious acting, generic plot, no heart and little action. Overhyped as fuck. 5/10

Had a marvellous night watching Amazing Spider-man 2 and X-men DOFP (pun intended).

Amazing Spiderman was ok for Electro, but wasn't impressed by the Goblin.

X-men really impressed me. Glad to see all the sources they drew material from. Wish Bishop had a larger role though, as the story was originally focused on him.
