What it shows is that even for an anime of low quality animation, contents can still sell. But the thing is its humor is very Japanese and otaku-oriented so most likely foreigners may find it difficult to laugh at its humor. |

And even for those people, there is the likelihood that they may enjoy the humor less -- for example I may find the humor in K-On very funny even on the sight gags but I may find it much less enjoyable if it follows a western style of animation art. For me, the visual style and the contents are not really that distinctly separable. |
