But it sold well, very well.

What it shows is that even for an anime of low quality animation, contents can still sell. But the thing is its humor is very Japanese and otaku-oriented so most likely foreigners may find it difficult to laugh at its humor.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I first heard of this show in saimoe preliminaries, got me curious. There are so many anime in Fall though, I doubt I'll find the time.

Some people call the animation in Family Guys or South Park shit too although usually they are those people who don't get the humor in them.

You can think a show has poor art and animation while still thinking it's funny, though. Hyakko, for example, looks awful for an anime but I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Hmmm... I think the poorness / ugliness / oddness of animation in gdgd is of a different order compared to Hyakko though...

Quick answer using those examples
Aoi Hana sales result
01 - 896
02 - 1,399
03 - 2,189
04 - 1,031
05 - 1,287

gdgd Fairies (taking also into account it's rather low production cost)
01 - 4,333
02 - 3,922
03 - 3,915

I was comparing it to something like Family Guy per your comment. That is, the visual style and comedy, while not completely separate (especially if a show relies a lot on sight gags) can still be considered separately. So not liking the art doesn't mean one misses the humor.

Perhaps it's better to stick with Family Guy than drawing in Hyakko into the discussion.
Actually what I wanted to say is that those who failed to enjoy Family Guy or South Park often do not appreciate the aesthetic choice and humor from the action in the animation, even though what you said holds true for some people. And even for those people, there is the likelihood that they may enjoy the humor less -- for example I may find the humor in K-On very funny even on the sight gags but I may find it much less enjoyable if it follows a western style of animation art. For me, the visual style and the contents are not really that distinctly separable.

As I said, the anime is very otaku-oriented. Don't get fooled by its appearance.

Full 3D CG is terribad no matter the budget, so I'm glad that gdgd is an especially low budget show 'cause with 3-4k copies sold they can make sequels with profit.
And the more f**king awesome gudaguda I get, the marrier I become.
