| May be a recap, but done uniquely and there's enough new material to make it not worth skipping. Also Fuu's commentary is always great |
| Well just a recap episode, one to chill out and remember what's happened so far however I felt like nothing much actually has happened thus far so it wasn't necessary to do a recap just yet. |

| Recap episodes shouldn't exist but at least they used the opportunity to get some of Fuu's inner monologue. Still mostly a waste of time, though. The random generalized bits of history thrown in weren't even interesting. |

| Even when there's so much effort put into it, I feel cheated by recap episodes. The questions to the monk were a really good addition though. It was interesting to see someone that even someone looking for answers to the questions of human freedom still doesn't slack one bit on the responsibilities given to him in the current state of society. The alternative ED wasn't bad, but I hope that it will not be replacing the original one. |

| Though it was a recap of sorts it was still enjoyable. I loved the little bits of Japanese history narrated by the police officer guy. The monk scene was funny. I wonder when are we gonna get to know about the samurai that smells of sunflowers. That ED was pretty chill and lyrics were good, but I prefer Shiki no Uta. |

| this is how to create a recap. It was expected at some point that the two samurais would have questioned their trip's motivation, but Mugen's comments while reading Fuu's diaries were funny, as well as the scene where he talks dirty to the monk and his deserved retribution. And as a perfect ending, Fuu insults Jin and Mugen knowing beforehand they would have read her entries behind her back. |

| It was a cool episode. I've been thinking since episode 6 that the sunflower smelling samurai is Fuu's father, and for some reason, this episode made me think I'm right. |
