I don't think I ever felt that way, but I when I read the comments it seemed like most people did. I never once saw Taichi as a jerk, just a kid who didn't know how to express his feelings. As for Arata now, I'm sure there are reasons for why he quit, although I guess he could of said it nicer. That said, I loved Taichi from the beginning, and even more since his voiced by Mamoru Miyano. I like Arata too, but I want Taichi with Chihaya. Although I agree with the following, except the emo part: amirhoss said: as for me like i said even in the previous eps i think taichi is always the poor one(money is not everything)since he is gonna waste his time for the entire show trying to have some romance with chihaya (plus helpin emo arata now) while she will end up with arata anyway. This shows seems to hint that Chihaya cares a lot more for Arata, which makes me feel bad for Taichi, who obviously cares a lot about her. Its really hard to dislike any of the two guys, but I do like Taichi way more. |

| Why is everyone calling Arata a jerk? Quitting Karuta doesn't make him a bad person. And I am sure there will be some reason for it, and he will probably be playing again better than ever in the next few episodes. Anyways, amazing episode, amazing show. |

Plus, WOW his voice is totally different LOL (although obviously but still XD) Kind of reminds me of Hikaru no Go lol, although I never finished that anime I really should but I remember the manga was amazing ... I get the feeling this is much the same :3 |

| finally modern High School Chihaya!!! and wow when did Chihaya had Wataya's number?? wahh Doctor is still lively as ever! Taichi's GF :D lol Chihaya is left behind. love how Doctor ordered Taichi to buy some chocolate and he was forced to buy the high quality Godiva ones!! the match was intense!!!! pushing Chihaya to it's limit! that Yasuda guy is seriously strong! but Chihaya is better!!!!!! here are some of her snapshots during the match!! and wow what a complete 180 turn by Wataya, i didn't like Taichi at first due to treating Chihaya back then, but wow i didn't even think Wataya would surpass Taichi in terms of douchebagness. i mean after all those years, Chihaya hold back on calling you, not to mention claiming you want to be the best in japan and you turn out like this? fucking wow. we're only 4 episodes and a lot of things already happen. i can feel it, this is gonna be a emotional ride. now i don't know which Chihaya would choose. all i can say is fight hard Chihayaa! |

| 5/5 These two guys, as they are unreliable, another tile on top of Chihaya! D: Plot that shows off a new unexpected, the cliffhanger is not bad, I expected him not to do so. Intense narration, scenery very beautiful, thanks to the color design with warm colors, designs, animations and BGM are discreet! : D |

| Damn Taichi, he spent $70 on those chocolates and Chihaya eats them real quick lol. He's way TOO kind. That match was very demanding and it just goes to show how fit karuta players have to be. They need to be quick in their instinct, able to endure the long hours of memorizing and playing, quick hand movement, able to have great eye vision of how the cards are set, and able to predict the players strategy. That guy Chihaya was facing knew her strategy. She always left her Chihaya card last to win. It was interesting that the Chihaya card was used as a hot potato card. That plot twist at the end with Wataya telling Chihaya he no longer plays karuta was surprising. It seems that there's some dark history with him based on when he hanged up he went into the hallway. |

| Agh Chihaya, your being too cruel to Taichi by being so innocent. I suppose that's what he deserves for being such a jerk to Arata as a kid xD I'm guessing Arata's grandfather passed away which somehow led to him quitting Karuta. |
