I'm concerned about how much they can actually fit into 3 movies though.

I guess like any movie made from a great book, a lot will be cut out to fit the run time.

As excited as i am for this new movie i have a feeling that it may bomb big time.

I absolutely love Berserk (bought every volume except 35 which isn't out yet) and i really liked the original anime (although the animation was pretty bad). But since i heard that Miura hired the guy who was the original creator of IDOLM@STER to direct his new movie my expectations got shot to the ground. I am used to Miura's trolling how he wont release his chapters monthly because he rather fap fap to IDOLM@STER, I'm ok putting up with that shit and some of the moe characters that he's been putting in the manga but this is starting to go too far. I know its his creation but is he intentionally making it fail. Meh, i hope I'm just ranting for nothing and the movie will be amazing when its released but i will be keeping my expectations low so i don't get too disappointed.

If they really do plan to make the Golden Age arc in three movies those movies better be two hours long and not 45 min OVA's like Hellsing because there is a ton of content in that arc and a hell of a lot was left out in the original anime. I hope they stick to the manga this time and not leave anything out. That means Silat + Tournament, and Wyald + rape/dismemberment.

That's always for the best. As far as I'm concerned, they're already making a huge mistake. When the news was first announced, they talked about how this was going to be a complete and authentic adaptation of the Berserk manga, that it was going to take a decade's time. And here we are, and they have seemingly skipped the Black Swordsman arc(the first three volumes). Why they decided to jump immediately to the Golden Age, even though they said it was going to be a perfect adaptation, is beyond me. At the same time, we still have barely any info on the new project. Yeah, we know we're getting three movies, but there's no way it's going to take a decade for that alone. I can only assume we'll be getting other projects, like a TV series, OVAs, and such. Because, as of now, there's no way they're going to be able to cover the whole manga in just three movies. Unless what they said about adapting the manga was only bullshit.

About that IDOLM@STER...Kubooka Toshiyuki is the character designer of the games, not the creator. He's also worked on the Lunar series video games, if you've ever heard of them. On top of that, he's worked on Gankutsuou, Beck, Gunbuster, Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Dennou Coil, and other anime titles. So, he has experience. Just saying. All we can do is wait to see what he's capable of.
I've never played the IDOLM@STER games, so I have no idea whether they're good or not, but the currently airing anime is so generic and boring.

Yeah I was surprised when they said that too, making it a perfect adaptation would mean starting with the first three volumes which i had hoped would be the first movie. My theory is that they want to start with the Golden Age arc since its the best way to introduce the story to those people who have never watched or read Berserk and then do the first three volumes after the eclipse. Which is something that i think the manga should have done, in my opinion.

My only reason for not liking Kubooka Toshiyuki as director is because from what i saw in his profile he has never directed anything and has little experience outside of animation, character design and story-boarding. I also hold a bit of a grudge against IDOLM@STER because Miura is addicted to that crap and its starting to affect the manga (he is starting to add more moe characters) and causes him to take huge breaks in between chapters.

In all seriousness though as a Berserk fan I am totally excited to see this new anime adaptation after so many years and I will support it no matter what. It just that i feel they need to be careful with it because if done incorrectly it will wreck the magnificent story that is Berserk.

Are you sure it'll be skipped? I thought I saw Puck in one of the commercials. Wouldn't that mean the Black Swordsman arc will still be shown (Guts vs the Count, Puck and Theresia, reunion with Femto)

Or is this going to be that scene where Puck meets Rickert for the first time when the circus performers dropped him off to the place where the Eclipse was happening?

The question of these movies is that will it feature original content from the manga. The anime cut loads of shit. Like the princess losing virginity and Caska.

Caska being raped by Griffith. Nipples, blood and nudes? They better all be there. Of course that will make it 18 but FUCK IT! You make these movies like the manga! YOU HEAR STAFF!

Yeah the manga really is way more gory and disgusting than the anime. They totally did not include Guts being raped as a kid and they can put that in Rainbow series?

Yeah sure BS! So make this 18 and make it like the manga is. That's all. The tamed anime version just won't cut shit if the movies are the same.

While I'm happy there'll be more Berserk, I don't understand why did they choose to do the Golden Age arc again. Is anyone seriously unhappy with the anime?

The things they can do with animation now a day will simply make the golden age arc orgasmic.

Except from the trailers it looks like really bad low budget CG ala Sci-Fi channel original movies. Honestly i still say Ufotable should have gotten this instead of Studio 4C but w/e its too late now. I'll go into it with low expectations.

In a way the Movies are like a recap of the first anime since it still exists, well that's what I think. I'm looking forward to the parts after the Eclipse, and the use of some more original characters, The animation does not bother me at this point.
