You're an idiot.

Opinions.

Anyway, this isn't a very good first post to have on this place. At this rate, lots of people aren't going to like you.

Has this anime touted to me as "Why can't I hold all these feels: The anime"... god damnit, they were right.
10/10 easy. No contest.

Ended up in watching the whole anime in a row. Soo likeable and believable characters and a simple but great story that hooked me directly from the start.. and soo sad at the end. But somewhat exaggerated though.
Had it's flaws like why didn't Menma make physical interactions before as RazielZero mentioned but disagree with his other problems. The lovetriangles/quadrangle were important to understand why the Peace Busters disbanded after Menmas death.
Overall a solid 9/10.

Also I expected something way more boring, a casual Anime when I first read the summary on MAL but gave it a chance because of its high rating. Damn, that summary is incredibly misleading..

I really liked the ending, predictable yes but still very likable altought I really never understood Menma's love *I love you to the point of marrying you* she did say that only to Jintan but she also loves everyone else and she rather go to heaven just to hope and be reborn and meet them again ... idk it just kinda feels weird like she didn't really like Jintan that much as he loved her, and trough out the whole series I always hated Atsumu the guy was a god damn creep and just said things to his advantage when stuff started going wrong ... anyways I did like the story alot so imma go with a 9/10 I just hope they would of brought up Jintans and Menmas relationship a little bit more

Truly, comparisons between fellow humans are what turn out to be the most infuriating.

Fantastic ending; had me a little teary-eyed :'< (I didn't really have high hopes for the ending since I've heard from someone that it wasn't too great. I guess we didn't really have similar tastes!)

I feel like a bit more buildup (in the earlier episodes) to everyone's confessions (in this episode) would've been nice. Other than that, though, this was a fantastic series with a rather simple yet awesome story. Menma's letters at the end - and everyone meeting her one last time - was so emotional ;__;

The very last scene was bittersweet - sure, Menma took her leave. But it looked like the Super Peace Busters would grow close once again, now with her in their hearts. (I'll miss Menma, too...)

Music and character development were outstanding, too. The ED, especially... it's certainly going to remind me of this series for a *looooong* time *sniffle*

It seems that some people felt that the show was overly melodramatic. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. But one thing's certain: it worked for me.

So. The last anime that made me cry at all was Clannad, and while I hate the ending and sort of what they did with AS, I still cried. Think I gave that a 9 or something..

Watched this finally, after seeing it get recommended a fair amount and not knowing what it was about.
This final ep. The mantears flowed so hard. I don't think i've ever cried as much over an ending, really sad to know it's over ;(

edit; I hated Yukiatsu for the whole series, but still loved the show. Menma to Jintan <3

I shed very MANLY TEARS through out the whole show, I marathoned it which i don't do often. I HIGHLY recommend it and will immediately buy the blu-ray NISamerica just released. But I did HATE Yukiatsu with a passion. But i had a soft spot for everyone else

I love this final episode the most.. Finally, everyone's feelings are not bottled up in themselves again. And now they can move on.

It's amazing how at first I was kind of annoyed with Menma and until now I actually like Menma for her kindness, she really has a big heart.

I've enjoyed watching this series, really a great show about friendships, dealing with the death of a loved one and accepting the past, moving on with life.

Great final episode! It was very emotional. Made me cry. ;_; I think my fav character was probably Yukiatsu. I have a thing for crazy cross-dressers, I guess. lol

Overall, I gave this series a 7/10.

I just marathoned this anime yesterday.

What a very moving series. I haven't cried this hard at an anime since watching ef-a tale of melodies. The story in this anime was really powerful and I couldn't have asked for a better, happier ending.

It was a good ending, a little overly sappy though. The series got better as it went on but I would have liked if they'd shown how Menma died.

When I first started this series, I posted that bitter sweet endings are my secret addiction. This anime definitely didn't disappoint in that aspect. A great ending that makes me tear up with emotion but makes my heart beat with satisfaction.

Great anime. 9.5/10 rounded to 10/10

Kinda sad that 90% of the characters' problems could be fixed by "there's other fish in the sea". But that's teenage love, I guess.

It was a little overdramatic for me. Same problem as Toradora's final eps, then. When everyone was crying in front of the shrine, that was actually pretty laughable. Having five out of the six main characters crying and confessing at the same time? I don't think any director can pull that off. Not to mention no one responded after the actual confessions.

Wish the anime focused on other things than just (romantic) relationships, the characters all had many more problems that the show just conveniently not focused on. That was a bit disappointing. Menma was fun, though. And the only non-cry-baby.

Was going to give it an 8, final ep dragged it down to a 7 for me.

I absolutely LOVED the episode and anime. Emotional impact and bawled my eyes out ever since Kobato. The ending was better than Tasogare Otome x Amnesia. Should have been like this. So sad that Menma had to leave but it was better than her staying like Yuuko. I can't wait for the movie to be released and this had got to be one of my favorite animes of all time.

Great conclusion to a great series. Glad it all worked out in the end. Haven't cried for the rest of the episodes, but tears came out when Menma left behind the letters for everyone under the tree. Coupled together with the ED song, it was just heartbreaking.

Really bittersweet, when they could see Menma. Fortunately, they could all accept the truth as what it is, sincerely bidding farewell with Menma and moving on with their lives in the positive manner.

Too much emotions to be had with this anime, and i really enjoyed it. Was planning to give it 9/10, but this final episode seals the deal for me and raises it to perfect score. To end off, i'll just quote 1 line from the ED song (which i absolutely love), "Thanks for the memories."

ending was satisfying, like someone said, it's hard to create a good ending even with 26 episodes to work with but Ano Hana managed it with just 11 eps.

Haruka Tomatsu has the best crying voice ever. She fcking kicked me in the balls with Aoba in Cross Game, and she did it again with Anjou in this anime.

last ep catapulted this anime from an 8/10 to a 10/10

I am a life long anime fan and surprisingly this is my first post ever on any anime forum. I've been on binge of anime marathons this past week, catching up on anime that I haven't seen such as Steins;Gate, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Usagi Drop and all because I got hooked on K-ON. (Some of the best anime I've seen in a long long time) I just finished Ano Hana last night, and re-watched the ending this morning. I could not stop the tears and after I realize that I need talk to other people about it. Or least be more involved with like minded avid watchers. It hit me hard, about how friends grow up and fall apart (not always) but for me seeing how a group like that to get back together. It was a bittersweet moment when Menma said "you found...me" and disappeared. It hurts to know that are people who go through those losses in life, and just wish happiness for everyone of them. And just hope, the Menma's they lost in their lives, they will be reunited again someday. And I believe they will. Thank you Ano Hana! Thank you Menma!

I completely agree with you and that's how I felt about the series as well. While I didn't have a friend's death come between me and my friends, I will admit I have parted ways with quite a few friends in my time. Many of which it wasn't even anything personal. It's just life. I moved around, jumped from place-to-place, as did my friends with their own lives. I know after watching Ano Hana, I contacted two of my best friends from my childhood, including the first friend I ever made. I was really amazed we parted ways and didn't stay in-touch because we do have so much in common, even to this day.

Honestly, this series essentially made me feel bad for not trying harder with the friends I parted ways with. It's pretty crazy when something as simple as an anime can move you in such a way.

Like others have said, once the letters came into play, I couldn't stop myself anymore. That was just too fucking sad. I didn't think it was 'forced' at all, personally. The whole show built up to the last scene with superb character development, and then it all hits you at said scene. And what a scene. One of the most emotional scenes and shows I've ever seen in my life. One of the easiest 10s I've ever given, and number 5 in my favorites. Well worth the marathon.
