Wow, it feels like it has been ages since I last saw this show. I need to check for any specials of Shana that I might have missed....if I remember correctly, there was some kind of movie? I still need to see that.

Yes, there's a movie that consists of the mostly unaltered story of Volume 1. The anime mixed the first two volumes together and saved the summoning of Alistair for the anime-original ending instead of using it where it was supposed to happen.

2011 IS THE BEST YEAR EVER IN ANIME

You know, actually, so far it has been pretty good, I can't complain too much..

MADOKA

Steins; Gate

The World God Only Knows 2

Baka to Test 2 (SUMMER)

and now Shana III (FALL)

Yeah, I'm really liking 2011.Don't forget Fate/Zero this fall. It's going to be epic.

Well, time to re-watch the first two seasons... been so long I barely remember them, haha.

Though I watched the first two seasons last year, I'm really glad the 3rd season will be airing in a couple of months. Though I wouldn't mind if there were gonna make more than just one last season, but it's true that the endings of the other seasons weren't endings at all, and if they were going to make more seasons there would be too much seasons without a real ending.

Not a fan of Shana, too many little "quirks" annoy me in the series. However, I've already seen the first two seasons, so I'll definitely watch the third. Let's hope for some real bloody development this series, eh?
Will you be able to do.... what must be done?

Shakugan no Shana the III huh. Great, more of Tsundere Shana and her very moe circle of friends. Hope they do better on this one, with more developments (sheesh, not just loads of drama) and a satisfying ending. The action is what I'm looking forward though.

If I were to guess, about 2-4 volumes were already used and that's probably about 3 episodes/volume.

This is awesome news. It's been a long and painful wait for season 3 and I am confident that this will turn out incredible. But that it's going to be the end is kind of sad, so I hope that it's at least 24 episodes long :D

yea....wouldn't expect much from this.

The studio made sure that season 2 is craptucular moe comedy mess. I have serious doubts on their capability of adapting more serious and more awesome novel parts.

I agree, I mean why does it have to be Jc staff animating this.
The only thing they didn't screwed up was Railgun and that's because they didn't need to put any fanservice in this, Misaka is the incarnation of service.

This and for the love of God don't build up romance if you're not going to use it.
they pretty much confessed to eachother at the end of season 2, and if you saw the trailer you know this sint really the most up beat finale but basicly they use the romance but their both fighting eachother so its kinda complicated, their using it though

The sad part?

Anime-fanbase will most likely love that, no matter how much JCstaff rapes the source material.

It may shock you to find out that anime viewers are not required to care about the source material. I generally do not read manga/light novels or play the games from which anime are adapted. Therefore, I judge the anime purely on whether I like what I see. It's fine if as a fan of the source material you dislike deviations from it, but it's unreasonable to expect people who are not interested in/exposed to the original to care about the same things.

As for whether what was actually animated is good or bad on its own merits, that's obviously pure opinion and yours is no better or worse than anyone elses'. Unless you start acting like it is, in which case you would give up the right to be taken seriously.
That's nice WHEN THE ANIME MATERIAL DOESN'T SUCK. But you should realize JC Staff is notorious for taking a story and destroying it. They are partly responsible for creating the "There's no Tsukihime anime" meme. For an adaptation to be so bad it's fans decide to pretend it doesn't exist you really have to screw it up.

For recent examples of horrible JC Staff adaptations watch Hidan no Aria and Toaru Majutsu no Index.

I'll refer you again to the last part of my post. Whether the anime material sucks in and of itself is mere opinion.

And I refer you, sir to this:
http://plover.net/~bonds/stupidresponses.html#subjective

There are general standards.

I can have an opinion on whether I like it or not, but when something is kitsch, its not opinion, its fact based on the esthetic standards set by the culture and society.

And if Tsukihime anime is ever created, I certainly hope it won't get the horrid treatment and horrid production team SnS got.

Because according to you if someone decided to remake Buffy and made her a cheery weak girl and the show into light-hearted sitcom, its all ok if show has fan's even if whedonites go to war against it?

Worldviews like yours is exactly what causes hollywood to remake stuff again and again.
