About Me
Konnichiwa, minna-san! My main alias is bluemage on the net and I currently reside somewhere in southeastern Canada. I'm also known as arche4ever and cronomaster on many other sites that I frequently visit. I have a very laid-back personality and am incredibly shy towards new people I meet, but I become very friendly and open once I get to know them. I grew up as an avid gamer and have always loved playing the classics like Super Mario Bros, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana on the SNES, but right now Nintendo DS's Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is the game that I'm working on. I also play Starcraft quite a bit and have gotten a lot better this past summer competing against my buddies in a mini-tournament that we held to see who's the best. My best race is now Protoss. (I used to fail at Protoss because whenever I warp in structures, I would keep my Probes there instead of using them to mine more resources. XD) I enjoy playing sports like badminton and basketball, and follow just about every sport there is on TV during my spare time, except for American Football for some strange reason. =S I love reading mystery novels (though I don't do too much of that anymore now that I'm into Anime), and am always tinkering with new computer programs and applications. I'm also a perfectionist by nature.
I am currently in my Second year of university continuing towards my BASc (Bachelor of Applied Sciences) degree in Nanotechnology Engineering. (Hence why I've featured Black Cat's awesome Nano-Loli Eve in my Profile.) I've always been intrigued with the inner workings of chemistry and the hundreds of possible reactions that exist and those that have yet to be discovered. Hopefully it'll be a good year despite the fact that I will be swamped with assignments, labs and tests for the next four months, but that's Uni life I suppose.
It was through an unexpected chain of circumstances that I really got into Anime/Manga. I used to catch all of my Anime on TV as a kid, but never knew that Anime Fansubs or online Manga readers existed until just two years ago. While browsing the Interwebs for Anime pics to add to my collection, I stumbled onto a character that most CLAMP fans would recognize in a heartbeat: Chii of Chobits fame. It was then that I decided to hunt down the Chobits Manga and as soon as I read it, I was instantly absorbed into the wonderful world of Anime. The reading of the Elfen Lied Manga followed soon after (yes, I got into the heavy stuff by my second Manga XD) which I still follow closely to this day, and before long I was secretly downloading episodes of Death Note onto my 256MB USB stick using proxy servers everyday during lunchtime at school. (I had to do this because I had dial-up Internet, THAT'S RIGHT, DIAL-UP INTERNET at home up until close to the end of my high school life. The horror..>_<)
Armed with High-Speed Internet, these days I download just about every type of Anime/Manga that I can get my hands on, though I do wish to invest in licensed DVDs very soon to start some kind of collection. The genres of Anime/Manga that I like the most are supernatural/psychological thrillers, slice-of-life, drama/fantasy, and the occasional comedy. I usually accept random friend requests on MAL but it would still be preferable if you stopped by and said hi first by leaving some kind of comment on my Profile. Same thing goes for random club invitations too.
