No wonder he would complain. i watched the last 10 minutes of the show in 10 seconds and didn't like it. I did this so I could understand what was happening and it looks like this: hot chick + casino + card battle. Don't like the show so im skipping it.

I can see where he's coming from, Rosa Canyon basically repeated the same thing twice in this episode. But yeah, apart from this detail (not a small one, mind you, it did feel very weird), the rest was as random/over-the-top as the first episode was and that's precisely what makes Rio fun, isn't it?

This is hilarious. Even the writer thinks his anime is stupid.

Not surprised, didn't look that impressive any way. Glad I decided to skip on it.

I don't get it, what was incomprehensible about it? I thought it was just a regular episode.
Was it the beach volley part? Maybe the storyboard writer wanted to have only a beachvolley game and didn't like the roulette.

Girls and clothes randomly turning into numbers, story that doesn't make a lick of sense, a girls clumsiness that defies the laws of gravity, characters randomly appearing out of nowhere, a battle that switched immediately from the casino to the beach without any explanation.....

This is beyond incomprehensible. This is chaos.

I think he's complaining that they are basically just taking little dips from his script and then just adding random crap. If you just take random excerpts from the script and move them around and add random shit in between, well... obviously the script loses structure.

The fact it is the storyboard writer who is calling them out for this is basically saying the director and it's animation team are not interested on the story itself but rather they WANT it to be imcomprehensible. If he's not just lying to grab publicity then I'm sure he's not gonna work on the story afterwards. Not like anime series tend to have just 1 writer for the whole season.

I'm going to watch this. Card battles and hot girls in a plot that doesn't make sense sounds like entertainment gold to me, for all of the wrong reasons, of course.

What I'm not going to do is watch this using Crunchyroll, as tempting as not having to waste hard drive space on it sounds. Only good anime like Hourou Musuko should be watched legally so that producers and licensors get a statement of intent.

The only thing not making sense is the volleyball thing other than its fan service purpose. Perhaps also the numbers but even those are attributes to Elvis's powers and fan service of the girls.

I'm not seeing what's so incomprehensible about the episode. There's a tournament, challenge shows up, they fight, Rio wins, The End. Plus fanservice.

If him/people are complaining about the numbers popping up out of nowhere, then I just have to facepalm. It's Elvis' ability he said he had in the beginning of the episode. He can calculate, analyze, and determine numbers. That's why he can predict where the roulette ball goes, he does the math in his head. The numbers are just there for trippy visuals and artsy reasons. Might as well ask why characters seem to sweat one large sweatdrop at random sometimes.

How the heck was this episode hard to follow? It's completely formulamatic. They're in a tournament, challenger shows up, Rio beats him, all is well. I'm going to spoil the next episode and say the next will be the exact same thing.

If it's the random volleyball thing, then it's just a visual metaphor for the roulette game and how Rio fights her opponent; making it more exciting than just watching a ball roll around. Serving the ball is her having her way, while being trapped/attacked by the numbers is a metaphor for Elvis' calculations and statistics working in his favor. In the end, Rio's luck gets her the win.

Not hard at all to follow.

Nah, actually what make is so, is that it's purely a fan service based on Rio's hot body.

Well, perhaps you should have written the episode yourself. You seem to know more of it than the one who actually wrote it apparently.

The real issue the guy had with it was that apparently that was NOT how he wrote it. You'd hate it too if you had taken your time to get the whole episode in place then they just scratch all your work and just make crap up.

Episode 3? Fanservice galore. A complete revision would do it some good. I think.

Nope, this anime is about 3 things, fanservice, interesting duels against beautiful and/or insanely rich people to get 13 Gate Cards, and even more fanservice.

No, it`s about more then that.
If you`ve actually paid attention to something other then the boobs of the girls you`d notice that there is actually some plot in there :P

Plot:
What is Rio`s goal with those Gate Cards?
Who is that mysterious lady at the end of ep 4?

But I don`t care that much about the plot in this, I mostly watch it for the fanservice and the loli XD
