THe action panels were even stranger than before with those super inflated/elongated arms of them.

I've noticed that too. Also the place I downloaded this from had as one of the description tags Disproportionate Bodies in bold, lol. They're not wrong.

The body proportions are weird, yeah, but nothing as bad as Captain Tsubasa.

Having a deadbeat drunkard of a father who was responsible for the death of his mother was a pretty tough situation for Dio to experience. It's understandable why he poisoned Dario but poisoning Lord Joestar's too much.

Jonathan's determination as a Joestar gentleman saved his dad from ingesting that last does of poison needed for him to sucuumb to the sickness. It's noticeable that he became way more clever and finally gained an physical advantage over Dio, throwing him against the railings and into the foyer.

He couldn't swear on the honor of his father, nothing weird about that considering what a scumbag that guy was.

Dio showed us a flashback of just how poorly his father treated him. It appeared he may have even given him proper medicine initially but his father's lack of consideration led to hitting him and throwing a bottle at him. In fact it was a reminder that even in the beginning when Dio was first shown his disdain for his father I recall him stating one of the reasons before spitting on his grave as driving his mother to her death. It was when Dario attempted to sell his mother's dress, possibly a personal thing to Dio akin to the mask to Jonathan as being a connection to their lost mother, and insulted her despite being in Dio’s words, the cause of her death, that Dio cried disgusted angry tears. He has such a disgust for his father's blood in his veins, so much that Jonathan being incredibly clever and asking him to swear on his father's honour had Dio’s anger throw away all seven years of progress, revealing the truth. I once said that Dio was a sociopath, calm, collected and doing anything he needed to get his way, but now I highly disagree with that, he is an emotionally hurt and volatile boy. He goes out of his way to feel superior to other people probably due to an inferiority complex, when things don't go his way he loses it, he cries, he kills animals, he attempts to stab people, and ultimately he's willing to constantly throw away everything he's built up because of his anger. It's not that he got better at controlling his anger over these years, no, he just stayed out of situations in which he would lose control of himself. Yet here when it's as simple as what Jonathan created, Dio tossed seven years of work down the drain. I think I really like Dio.

Now Jonathan knows his suspicions were not wrong. He was not in the wrong for feeling their friendship was false. It’s a real battle, prove Dio’s poison before he kills their father… Also, let’s not forget Dio’s birthmark and the man who once had the same one..

Dio himself said that Jonathan’s the kind of person to learn and get stronger from his fights, he should not have expected the eye poke to work a second time! Instead, Jonathan beat him again and made him face the humiliation he felt all those years ago!!

A great chapter! The tension and parallels to how they were as kids and how they changed was pretty great here. The way Jonathan throws Dio from the stairs never fails to make me laugh no mater how many times I see it.

Although I love the character of Dio it's really good to see how he lost it and how Jonathan as the physical manifestation of justice shine on.

Not much happens in this chapter but we got to see a lot of their characters.

I honestly thought Dio would actually swear on his father's honor, but he didn't.
