Tbh, I think Sei and Tenyuu will get along just fine in this show. Between the two, it seems Sei is the one who is much more open to expressing her knowledge.

This episode also does show a little cleverness from Johan's character too.

But does the other kingdom/s not have spies or something ?

Not to mention, if i remember correctly the summoning was pretty public occasion, so if the half of the castle knows about it, surely some info about a saint being summoned would slip amongst the common people and so to the rest of the world.

Sei really has become quite the common topic for the prince huh. It would make sense that different countries would have potions unique to their regions. Looking at it now maybe avoiding the prince was a bad idea given how much knowlege he can pass to Sei. Still despite that as a nat security asset it pays to be wary. Et Tu Liz was damm amusing. Looks like the reason for the prince's query is far more personal than we suspected. Only question here is what would Sei do at this point.

This arc is irritating, it's based entirely on the premise that the king is a fool.

Sei's identity as the saint is pretty widely known, whether from all the healing and cleansing that she's done with the various knight orders to having been actually, formally presented as the saint at the ball.

If they're going to treat her as a vital component of the kingdom's security then it would make basic, simple sense to prevent the prince from approaching her after having 'accidentally' wandered unescorted into the facility where there are state secrets in medicine and enchanting. Visiting nobles and diplomats can't just go anywhere they please so just... say he can't go there? Job's done.

Instead we have a game of cat and mouse that leads to him finding the solution he's looking for through her anyway. This is the sort of thing that leads to heroine's being kidnapped, idiot king.

Anyway, Hawke being a devilish flirt plus Liz bouncing to leave Sei adrift was good fun at least.

“I want to see you when I get back after all” mann Albert knows exactly what to say and when to say it to sei. He knows what effect he has on her and loves teasing. It’s so cute seeing how flustered she gets 😩 need them to kiss already.

Also loved Sei’s strategising about Prince Tenn’yuu. Turns out he just wants to cure his mom, very noble goal.

The thing that doesn’t really make sense about this arc though is, if the kingdom wants Sei’s identity to stay a secret, which it isn’t because she was formally introduced as the saint already, why would they allow a visiting delegation to go near her? Seems like some contrived drama tbh. But luckily the Prince doesn’t seem to have any bad intentions and just wants her help.

@Tarrian Very irritating. Poor writing skills from whoever is scripting this. I hate that Sei is just a useless 'yes' girl. She has no agency whatsoever. They tell her to go into a dark beast filled forest with incompentent knights? Ok. Need you to go to a party so our image is good? Ok. Hate limp wristed weak yesmen MCs. Literally just a dunce doing whatever they are told to do.

And the whole state secrets thing. If the writer cant handle how to play out a scenario, dump the idea and do something else. This should have been as easy as .. I dunno...LOCKING THE GATE? Escourts saying "You are not allowed in here". Done. Writer went for a childish cat and mouse take and it is just irritating. Season 2 is looking like a drop, story is going no where and everyone is an idiot.

Intentions can be honest but both sides developed and put into practice tactics to gather intel. Another very good episode, commonplace of the series!

That was a nice strat for them to get better grasp about what the prince really wanted.

At least now they know that the prince's intention is true and pure, at least how it stands right now.

The prince finally revealed his true goal, and it's a noble one. I can't wait for the next episode! 🥰🥰🥰

No one dropped an image, so I'll be dropping one. XD
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Ah yes, the worst kept secret is finally out of the bag, but honestly... Sei and Hawke got very creative in their ways of prying out that information from the Prince, at least now they don't have to be wary about him... but here's the question tho, what will Sei do? Will she reveal herself as the Saint or she will continue with the ruse? Next episode is gonna be spicy.

In my opinion this seems like a trap set by the prince to find said alchemist that can create high grade potions single handedly. & Kidnap or convince them to come back with him to his kingdom to solidify his power and importance as a contender for the crown. This prince seems very smart and it would've been 100x easier to buy a high-grade potion through his position as a prince so he came personally for ANOTHER reason. I think he made up the whole sick mother suffering from wasting disease to emotionally guilt trip Sei into personally contacting the "alchemist" but, that's just a theory LOL

i'm sure hawke was more than willing to help sei out if it meant spending more time with her before he left for home lol and i wonder if it was the prince's mother who needs the potion or the prince himself, but he's just using his mom as an excuse.

The Prince is getting desperate.

Hawke is improvising on the act haha. What Ceyran and the Prince said made me assume the Prince was the ill one.

Anyone else think that commander Hawkes would invite sei to his family domain it kill a number of birds with one stone first it get sei out of the capital away from the prince and they could say she accompanying Hawkes to start potion production in the Hawkes marquisate second it let Hawkes speed up the monster hunt so he can spend more time with his parents or return to his duties as order commander third it help the palace deal with the nobles wanting sei to marry into their family letting slip that the monster hunt an cover so Hawkes can introduce sei to his parents that also misdirected the prince

As expected, Prince Ten'yuu is always asking about Sei to Jude, and as much as he requests of her, Jude is getting frustrated all the more being the intermediary. For Johan to intentionally give in to Ten'yuu...is this supposed to be a smart move?

Johan, Jude and Sei act like they allowed Ten'yuu to see her the first time, and true as intended, they let him in on her potion-making research and sharings of their differing nation methods between each other, though also careful not to expose her doings and divert Ten'yuu as much as she can, linking both Salutania and Zaidera together. as much as it hurts telling the Imperial Prince lies, he's onto the thought that Sei is the Holy Saint, but that they also need to do their homework for offense against what Ten'yuu might come up with.

As is with Captain Ceyran in Morgenhaffen searching for an alchemist, now that they looked into him more, linking Ten'yuu's purpose in Salutania does look like the part, but that when the talk of the Holy Saint comes up, he diverts and talks about something else, which they only needed to find someone who can make high-grade potions, who's not necessarily the Holy Saint. Sei wants to do more digging, which she entrusts the help of Elizabeth...or that Hawke showed up without warning to return home to see his parents and wanting to see her before he left. Elizabeth took the whole interaction as a sign that she found a better (flirting) helper, and he ended up helping her on the spot...to intentionally put their research and hearsay into an acting conversation to rouse Ten'yuu's interest to see if he would bite the bait...and it did.

Ten'yuu's reason...is because he's looking for a potion that could clear his mother's muscular anthropy issue, now that's not an issue suspicious at all.
But why keep this a secret?

I hope Sei tries to corroborate the foreign prince's story about a sick mother, because the way the prince is going about things is majorly suspect. I get it's probably a political thing that the prince doesn't want the secret about his mother to get out, if his story is true that is, but things still don't add up. If the prince was really desperate for a cure, he should be massively asking questions about how to cure the disease to every alchemist he meets. Even if he's trying to hide it, a majority of his questions should be revolving around potions affecting the muscles. He's also going about tracking down a solution all wrong, he's literally stalking researchers, and when he has them he interrogates them on their abilities and not about what he's trying to supposedly cure. And lastly, how important is it to keep his mother's sickness a secret to the degree he's going, from what I understood his mother is a concubine, not the queen, and he's like 18th in line for the throne. That makes him a nobody compared to other princes like Kyle and his brother who are 1st and 2nd for their throne, and compared to Sei who's is paramount to their kingdom's security against the monsters.
