If you are "speaking clearly form an anime only side" why did you bring up the Stockholm Syndrome? There was no traces of that "syndrome" in the episode 5. Only a backstory with bunch of emotionless face, then the angry face of a tortured girl.

nearly every person that I've watched this episode with, a long with reactions, discussions, have all come to the conclusion that it is Stockholm syndrome as all the evidence points towards that. What else would it be other than that? If I'm correct, I don't remember the manga ever directly saying it was Stockholm syndrome so I don't see how me reading the manga has anything to do with it

Idk if I'm understanding this wrong but as the mangaka, Isayama chooses how many chapters there are. He didn't need to stop at 139 and cram all of it in like you say. He could've easily taken his time and created more chapters that's why I think it's lazy.

I think that right lies with the publication. (idk I might be wrong) also I think he wanted to make the symbolism of 139 chaps. 13 titan years and 9 main titans so the 140th chapter would mean freedom. Idk maybe cause of that?

Nah, she is just really dumb, stockholm syndrome your ass, she is just very very dumb with an IQ of even less than 80, we can even say that she is mentally handicapped, that is why she got used, why she had sex at 13 and why she is love sick, had no idea how to improve titan technology, had no idea about future planning, felt no remorse even when her descendants are already suffering, decided to just sit and cry in paradis island but still failed to bring all of her kids, and after all that have not learned anything is solely because she is a stupid kid, there is nothing like syndromes or pitiable circumstance or anything like that, she is just plain dumb
