Spotlight Character: Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter) ![]() MAL Character Information Page: Hisoka MAL Favorites: 436 For the next week I would like to have everyone familiar with this character discuss what they think makes it an exceptional character. What attributes make it stand out in the ocean of interesting characters that exist in the realms of anime and manga. Unlike the other two subjects I will not force this conversation to fall into any set structure. Characters that are nominated typically get here because they are adept at breaking the existing character moulds and defying definition. Because of this freedom I encourage everyone to do their very best to stay on topic and keep any and all debate civil. Have fun and I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say about this character. Rather one-dimensional stereotypical shonen bad guy with ulterior motives. Has no character development and practically no depth. He is not explored nor explained. A definitive no. |

As much as I love him as the sexiest clown every created in anime... As much as I'd play cards with him for as much as he wanted in a dirty hotel room... As much as the best part of the series was when Hisoka had a shower... And as much as my collection of fanart is the 5th, in terms of size, out of my folder... I know that he's just a regular character. Yet again, a very tasty creature. No, I'm sorry. ![]() Waratte Oemashou Sore ha Chiisana Inori |

Hisoka is special, but I let myself enjoy him, so I can see that. With Killua (and all his character development) rejected here Hisoka doesn't have much hope here in the land of the grumpy. ;p ![]() If you're stingy then click on CLuClu! I honestly don't remember anything specific about him as a character (as opposed to Killua and Kurapica) that made him special, besides the fact that he's hot and charismatic as a villain. |

He kind of reminds me of Zaraki Kenpachi, no real consideration of good and bad nor much concern for anything other than the thrill of the fight. Having no sense of loyalty, Hisoka's actions only go to finding and even raising strong opponents. Can't say he has any depth though, his only notable characteristic is sadism, and his only real roll in the plot (other than fan-girl service) is being a growth accelerator for Gon, who perceives him as destination to reach and pass. soo that's a no from me. I agree with you on that, he resolves to any kind of trickery if it can get him a fight with a strong oponent |
