That was an awesome episode, definitely the best so far this season. When that U2 style guitar comes on you just know something good is happening. Souma is a badass, always thinking outside the box and emerging with the victory. I love how he incorporates cheap and simple stuff into his recipes, doesn't rely only on fancy ingredients. All the ladies drooling over Soma.   |

| The Saitou back story was kinda meh for me, didn't really do anything there and the Kuga-Nene conversation needed to be a bit longer to not just feel randomly thrown in the middle. But at least Soma using his skills that he gathered from his months at Totsuki Academy and utilizing the help of his friends effectively was nice to see, he's come a long way. The actual Shokugeki though surrounding the butter was not that great for me on its own without considering the friendship elements to Soma's growth. 3rd round is done and it's 4 v 3 now with the Rebels having the advantage. Obviously it's gonna end up being a 2 v 2 by the time the next round is done to make it all even again cause that's just how this story is played out. |
| This would've been such a great episode with the quality of season 1. Like this it was just okay, the whole swordfight stuff could've been way more epic. |
