| Tough to see Simon pretty much broken in this episode. The new character Nia could possibly be his saving grace, but her just falling right in front of Simon just seems to be too convenient. Who knows? btw, I just realized Kittan's gunman looks like a giant banana lol |
Poor Simon.. he is probably the last person who have the hardest time to get over Kamina's death since Kamina was the most important person in his life now and the only person who kept him motivated until the end... But I hope he will get stronger and tougher.. [sigh] I miss kamina already. No more crazy stuffs and blabber..  |

| Mmmpf another boring episode. So cliché and predictable. Hero now goes all berserk. Yoko still doesn't care a damn bit about him. Then comes a girl to cheer up our hero. Oh wait, she speaks and looks like a human but never knew what they are oO Ah it's alright, as we saw, some of the general and even the spiral king himself looked like humans. Guess what the girl is his daughter, what a twist ... Wait it was written all over her face. ... Basic shonen tropes all over again. Maybe they were trying to self paroding or take all the shonen clichés to appear good, and as Naruto and Bleach were the shit at the time it seems to have worked seeing this anime rating >_> Another episode before I drop this I guess and switch to Fate/Zero... What a major disapointment this anime was. Guess it's good for a shonen amateur, but after having seen so much, bleh it feels the same over and over again, no surprise, no excitment... I got more fun watching Infinite Stratos :/ |

Interesting episode though, but damn Simon must really feel depressed :/ Up to the next episode to see what will happen! The new OP was also quite nice but yea I miss Kamina :/ |

| I like how everyone on the team is being a complete ass to Simon WHEN HE JUST LOST HIS DAMN BROTHER! The last remnant of family that he had... Sure, Kamina wasn't technically his brother but he sure acted liked it! Maybe the purity of this new character "Nia" can snap him out of his depression, since apparently no one on Team Gurren gives a shit about Simon now that Kamina is gone. It's like Simon was just an accessory which is messed up! Even Yoko who i thought was his friend, just leaves him to rot: No love from Kamina = No love for Simon Oh why do the show have to be so depressing, it was so lighthearted in the beginning... ;_; |

Nia seems interesting though. Here's to hoping they don't designate her as the generic "Socially inept non-human" love interest of the main character...though seeing as how they handled every other character in this show, I'm not holding my breath. stop watching now then, the main point of gurren lagann is the comedy and mood uplifting scenes but if your not experiencing those then you miss the point of the show |

| Totally saw Nia being the daughter coming since the king looked pretty human. Yoko and Simon mourning Kamina...I know how they fill. The "you were supposed to repay me" line put a hole in my heart. Nia seems really good for Simon. And as much as I liked Kamina/Yoko, I can't wait to see the things Yoko will do on her own. Kamina and Yoko have been my favorites so far, and now it's just Yoko. Hopefully the show will carry on Kamina in its spirit. |
| Simon's mood felt a tad overplayed for my taste, but overall the show is grabbing my interest more than it was before. Nia has promise as a character. I knew something was off about her when I saw those eyes, though I didn't expect her to be the daughter of the Spiral King. Not bad, not bad at all. TTGL needed a wake up call like this. |

| Kamina isn't in the OP anymore. :( the show feels very different without Kamina. It's gonna take a while for me to get over his death. The meeting between Simon and Nia was really cute. Also Nia is fucking adorable! I love her design! I wonder what with her eyes though. They are very different from a regular human. Didn't expect her to be the Spiral King's daughter. Also the Spiral King looks human. I didn't see any animal characteristic. Is Nia really human? I hope she does turn traitor at some point since she's the Spiral King's daughter. I definitely want Simon x Nia. I think she'll be one to bring back Simon to his regular self. Great episode. |
| So, Simon is still mourning, which is understandable. I'm sure he'll get through it somehow. So far merely slapping him worked, but maybe now that wouldn't cut it. Also, I like Nia so far (). Hopefully she's not just a love interest for Simon. |
