| I thought that the beginning was perfect. Nodame seems like a completely different person from the first series, she actually listened and understood, she totally understands (a whole lot more than I did, judging from my comment on the previous episode :s) that they're both really busy, and they can't always be together or something. Ahh, she's so mature now! Ahaa, Chiaki's reaction to all the males she's in contact that they doesn't know was hilarious, and I love his face whenever Nodame's bras are mentioned :D |

That Mahler was beautiful, but I wish there was more DX Hehe, obedient Chiaki was adorableee~ That was sweet how Nodame understood and was even happy for Chiaki :) That's a good girlfriend. Hahaha, him being jealous the next morning was so awesome XD I was giggling all fan-girl like xP.... o.o Guys being jealous is too cuuute :3 Anyways, great episode. Nice development with Tanya. I'm really rooting for her! She's not the stupid girl that she was portrayed to be in the beginning. I hope her and Kuroki will have something by the end of the series ^_^ Also, looks like FINALLY Nodame will be entering a competition. :) I'm sooo excited for her!!! :D |
| The biggest laugh in the show for me might have been when Nodame goes to answer the door, and Chiaki does that creeper slide into the frame because he's jealous lmao. This shows' pacing is incredible, man I can't stop watching. They even give side characters their due, and develop them well. This is the good stuff right here... |

| Best episode so far.. Both pairs are fun to watch esp. Nodame and Chiaki.. Didn't thought Chiaki can be jealous.. Laughed so hard when Nodame mentioned "bra" during the phonecall.. XD And Yasu's kissmark in his lips.. lol |

| That scene at the beginning of the episode just became one of my favourite scenes in the series. Everything about it was... perfect. I can watch it over and over again. I love the show's portrayal of the two leads and their relationship. The relationship is played out in a fairly light-hearted manner but is not shallow; it's serious when it needs to be but is not heavy-handed. In a bid to advance the relationship, the show doesn't resort to contrivances and facile strategies, but instead tries to stay grounded in realism by having the characters behave and act not in ways whose primary aim is to serve the requirements of the romantic subplot but in ways that complement their personalities and circumstances. Chiaki's chance encounter with Maestro Viella and the latter's invitation to his rehearsal could've proceeded with Chaiki declining the tempting offer without any hesitation and opting to keep his appointment of attending Nodame's concert. But he doesn't do that. The writer(s) could've opted to play things out that way, as being indicative of a significant romantic development (and there are works that unhesitatingly go down that route-- the guy instinctively giving precedence to matters pertaining to the girl while everything else takes a backseat), but they know that such a course of action on the part of this particular character, at this particular point, would be a bit of a stretch. How would this character behave if he were a real individual and not merely a device to move the the plot forward? There stands before him his mentor whom he admires and respects. An opportunity to witness him perform doesn't come by every day. But he's also supposed to attend this girl's concert. He knows that she looks forward to seeing him among her audience and it's not right to back out in the last minute. He invariably gives into his temptation. This is good characterisation, in my opinion. Him choosing the reverse might have been desirable from the standpoint of how a romance should 'ideally' pan out but what he actually does instead is better since it adds depth to his character. Coming back to the aforementioned scene in this episode, these two aspects are the highlights for me: 1. Nodame's considerateness towards Chiaki's feelings despite being hung over his failure to show up at her concert. 2. Nodame's feisty assertion of her conviction that she did fine, notwithstanding Chaiki's absence, so it's high time that he stops thinking highly of himself, in response to his 'Don't tell me your performance was disappointing because I wasn't there'. These instances are among a number of subtle indicators of Nodame's growth as an individual and the evolving dynamics of her relationship with Chaiki. She has a purpose in her life that is not limited to just being close to the one she loves. I freakin' adore this series. |
