| I hated the ending of the "harem" arc, but this seems to set things straight. All the characters already told Madarame who he would fit the best with, and I agree. I want Yajima and Hato to end up together as well, but it would just seem forced at this point. I`ve followed Madarame since the start of my Anime fandom, my early teens, so reading his confession made a huge impact on me. It almost felt like I myself confessed and waited for an answer in anticipation, it was THAT engaging. I`ve had some of my strongest and most memorable Anime experiences from the Genshiken series (the Saki scene made my eyes leak for hours), so it will be depressing to read the last chapter next month. The previous chapter was pretty good as well, as it felt like reuniting with old friends. Oh, how I will miss this series. |

| Sad its ending, but the fujoshi part of it hasn't been as interesting as the time with madarame and the other guys, madarame's line about how this wasn't what Genshiken was about seemed to hit home and maybe the author acknowledging to himself that things haven't moved as smoothly. |

| Well, to be fair most of the fujoshi part was madarame harem + Hato's crossdressing. I agree that the fujoshi cast still had some potential. Hato + Yajima + the Yoshitakes with Sue would be a fun read as well. They would just need to recruit one or two guy otaku, best if one of them (or the only one) would be very normal instead of quirky like the Yoshitakes, Hato and Sue. I'd love to see a tokusatsu otaku there as well as an idol one. Those seem to be people that wouldn't find a club on their own and would be right for the Genshiken. I'm happy to see a non-Hato ending, because that would be against the character Madarame was and also happy about a non-Saki ending. We already have that in the Spotted flower AU done very well, so while this kind of ending is still possible, due to Spotted being further in the future, I'd prefer to see two different timelines with different routes. More stories from Genshiken. Kio Shimoku is good. I just think he gave too much time for the harem which was a cheap shot at pandering to the otaku and also too much time for the Hato drama which alienated some people that didn't care about it. I think his idea of changing the genshiken to a fujoshi circle to change the perspective was good, but it lacked a strong male point of view, since Kuchiki was a joke character. Then he started loosing people and did the trap and harem stuffs, which took the space for the female Genshiken just being the Genshiken. |
| Feelings, the feelings. All the way to this point, I felt like Hato-Rame would be the final ending, because of so much attention in emotional sense was given to it. It would have been logical for that reason. At the same time, it would have been most illogical ending, as we know that Rame is straight, and actually only gets feelings for Hato when s/he dresses up like a girl. I always felt Rame's feelings for Hato were a result of illusion, so nothing real in sense of physical relationship could happen from Rame's part. I can also understand what Hato-Rame ending would have meant for people of minorities, it would have been great gesture of sympathy from Kio-sensei. Yet, I refuse to accept the idea of Rame being selfish (or even discriminatory, as some suggest) for not having _real_ feelings for Hato only because of his biological gender. I applaud for Rame, being honest about what he really needs to be happy as a whole, even if he still had emotional bound for another girl (Hato) at the same time. In my opinion, this honesty is going to be a favor also to Hato in long run. Having all this in my head, I feel like dream came true. I never dared even dream of Sue-Rame ending, as my favourite endings practically never happen... Now I can continue daydreams of how Rame gets what Susie as hardcore otaku is going trough and being her protector, Susie sympathizing with Rame's true nature and accepting him whole-heartedly... them being that lovely, wacked-to-the-world pair as I always saw them <333 |

| Yes Madarame, I always believed you would follow the moe and let the loli win! But yeah, on a more serious note I had expected Sue to be the best choice out of all of them and because of that did not see picking nobody as the best option. From the pacing of things and concentration of the POVs, the manga made it seem like Hato would be end game but up until the end he was fairly unsettled with his crossdressing. It felt like he needed some more time, as these things are something that you gradually figure out for yourself. I'm glad that Hato did show even more progress before this chapter and wish him the best. He was a great character to follow and would probably be my favorite if I wasn't such a damn lolicon. As for the other girls, Keiko and Angela, I just didn't feel like they had as strong of a connection with Madarame as Sue and especially not as much as Hato. Thus concludes the Madarame harem, good job fellow lolicon. Lastly as a small bit, I find myself loving Saki-chan even more with this chapter. She didn't appear that much but her effect on everybody at Genshiken is profound, only further proving she really is the main female ahaha. Forceful until the very end~ One more chapter to go! Following Genshiken's pace I doubt this'd be an epilogue chapter but I really want to see MadaSue fleshed out more. Is it too late to dream I wonder? |
