Ten people are dead, 17 are critically injured and one person is missing after a head-on collision between two trains in Germany's southern state of Bavaria, police said Tuesday.

At least 63 people on board suffered less serious injuries, police said. They said there were about 150 passengers on board the two trains.

Yeah, it's interesting here. After a crash several years ago, they instituted multi-tiered safety measures that should have prevented this. Thus, there had to be failures on several fronts for it to even be possible. Thankfully, the trains were far less packed than they usually would have been, or this would have been far worse. I'm very curious as to what the investigation will find.

So one of the trains was late and the guy in control wanted to be faster by taking a road to the side, but the train didn't reach the road fast enough and crashed into the other train. That's what I heard.

mmm well it seems suspicious accidents can happen in the west too lol
it's obvious that such a thing should never be able to happen if there's a solid safety system in place so this is quite worrying

LL link of some guy's footage

Not for the faint of heart, I guess, though it isn't really as graphic compared to many other videos.

Tragic but I wonder what exactly the cause was.

You can be sure that there will be some Results, since those Matters are being taken dead serious. I'll also await them.

The first Version I've read seems to talk about Human Error. Allegedly, there was a late Train which was manually allowed to pass through a Section while another Train had green Light from the other Site:
