WTF did I just watch? That was insane. It's highly stylized but still has attention to detail. Felt like the Read Or Die OVA. Love it so far.

I've already watched 4 episodes of this great OVA, but I had to re-watch this episode. This is indeed a great first episode and I'm glad I re-watched it. It introduces most of the characters in the most fashionable way possible while giving hints of the true nature of the incident 10 years ago and the objective of Big-Fire.

I'd been recommended this by people in the know, but had always ignored because of the goofy name and seemingly dated character designs.
Boy have I been wrong. At least this first episode has been an eye opener. Ambitious anime, with incredible hand drawn animation, great music, a solid back story and no distracting moe or annoying emo pilots.
Let's see if it can keep it up for the next 6 chapters.

A friend has been bugging me to watch this and oh boy was he right to insist on it. It's stunning to look at. I hate to use a cliche this tired, but they don't make 'em like this no more. Hand drawn fire and explosions FTW. Now everyone enhances things with computers. It looks good but it's still cheating. No cutting corners for these folks. I'm all in.

Great episode. The beginning was just like watching a good classic movie where the action starts on top of a train and gets more interesting by adding superpowers and robots. Didn't like the characters at first until the conversation between brothers.

wow that was awesome, great animation, great characters, and it seems like the story has a ton of potential! Really impressed, I never expected an anime with the name giant robo could be this good, guess it holds true that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover :P

I like how the animation is modern, but still looks it cames from the 50's or 60's. I'm curious to see what's going to happen next.

The tragedy that happened at Bashtarlle is truly some of the most dramatic animation I have ever seen so far in anime.
I love the flashing of the character designs while Dr. Franken Von Folger is turning his back, and you see Genya flashing in place of Folger's silhouette. Amazingly dramatic! I wish that effect was used more often, despite the seizures it may cause.

Yasuhiro Imagawa should get an award for this (I do not know if he already has).

That was pretty boring, doesn't help that the main cast was far from grabbing my attention, especially the big guy who was annoying.

The animation was the only thing that stood out, but with that I also had to deal with the freaking eye burning flashing lights, no idea how people can handle them while watching old anime.

Can't say I'm particularly excited, 6 episodes left to prove me wrong.

This was pretty cool. Not just the style, but also "agent movie" plot is for my liking.

This will be an entertaining ride.

I love this art style. It's like a Studio Ghibli or Gainax production. They went all out. No wonder they couldn't finish the series.

One of the best first episode I have watched, surely the animation is the most eye catching thing so far but damn how can you ignore that cool directing especially how they showed the fking tragedy and they introduced character in the coolest way possible, let's see how things turn out later on...

Not sure how to feel about this so far. The animation is admittedly epic, but the characters are mostly facile and archetypical. The mystery of the Shizuma Drive is alluring though, especially with how regretful Shizuma is over its development.
