THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

This is so confusing... these missions, these plot twists, I don't understand what is going on...

Note: After re-watching the first 2 episodes, things started to look much clearer. The first time I wasn't paying enough attention or I might have been sleepy and I couldn't follow the plot very well. Now I can place every character in its place while understanding where Big-Fire stands, his goals and how the heroes are trying to stop him. Oh and the French guy looks like he is a spy or is working with some sort of independent organization. Things are making much more sense now and this is turning into quite a ride.

I'm wondering if this episode came before Neon Genesis Evangelion? I'm seeing a lot of similarities into as how they portray the battles. I feel they definitely influenced each other.

TTGL was highly influenced by this series (and others) so I can see how the guys at Gainax might had already had an eye into Giant Robo before Evangelion came to be.

And that scene when Giant Robo cries. Oh my god, it was beautiful and sad at the same time.

There are some things that I still don't understand. How Vogler managed to survive is the main and who is Daisaku's father. But i think it'll be explained in the next episodes.

I'm really enjoying this mix of new technology and 50's/60's.

Much better than the previous episode, but with the way it ends I can't imagine how frustrating it had to be wait for each episode.

Not as good as previous episode in my opinion ...

Not exactly the greatest plan if everythingl depends on your enemy not doing anything.

Dem' robo tears, lol.

All these fights come down to whatever's made of the strongest metal. Whatever robot was built from weaker materials just comes apart like wet tissue paper.
