LUCIFER RISING PART 1

Okay, let me guess, a planet formed of antimatter? Extremely improbable if it's found within the solar system.... but who knows....stilll a nice idea with the Church and how religion views the progress of science.

What's interesting in this series is that I always find an interesting element in these short stories (not necessarily the main one though)

Edit: LUCIFER RISING PART 2

Whoa, that was a long one. So, once again, the popular old myth of using antimatter as energy to create a warp hole..... not really possible by the current laws of physics.... unless we were wrong of course.....

And I found it interesting the author found an analogy for the creation described in the Bible:

angel vs. demons = matter vs. anti-matter
God created humans = apes lifeforms formed of matter
Satan tempted Adam and Eve with knowledge = DNA mutation/evolution caused by gamma rays coming from Lucifer

Very religious story indeed.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

A nice little tie-in with the hibernation capsules there.

The sabotage element may be a little over-dramatic.

This is completely unrelated to the story, but I love how subtly and effectively the writer portrays the progression of time, science and technology, instead of infodumping everything at the beginning of the chapter, which makes it all the more brilliant and well-written. Simply, the world-building is magnificent.

As for the story itself, it is indeed a rather long one, but it definitely needed to be that long considering the complex topic that it tackles. I thought the fourth chapter was quite ambitious, but the ideas presented in this chapter are even more insane. So far, we have barely had any insight into what the general populace feels regarding these space explorations, but this story finally delves somewhat extensively into that crucial aspect (albeit just from the Church's point of view).

That lesbian (and incestuous?) scene in the middle was really abrupt and weird though.
