after watching Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata,

I really want to try a dating sim game, but I can't read Japanese at all. I don't know nearly enough japanese words to understand a scenario either. any of them have english subtitles?
preferably a popular anime I have seen.

something like Date a Live

one if of the pia carrot games has english translation
"If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine"

When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one
For the Union makes us strong

There's a couple on here: (True Love and May Club)
http://tss.asenheim.org/

Besides those there is Love Plus for the DS which has an English patch, and there are a few OELVNs that have simulation elements, but most of them aren't that good besides Sunrider Academy.

I don't like playing on tiny DS or Vita. Guess I'm out of luck.

There are alot of Translated Visual Novels out there.

You can google Mangagamer, and buy them or download them.

Depends on what you want.

I tried a VN on app store, but the texts were extremely horrible and 10 minutes into the reading, I don't get to be involved at all. I want to affect the story, not just read it.

Almost all VNs I have seen there have really awful translations, so I'd disregard those completely. But yeah, if you want to affect the story in a significant way, VNs aren't a good medium for you (only a few of those have a lot of choices).

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't see the difference between dating sims and VNs, so when you ask for the former, they end up recommending you the latter. :P

^ It's simple:
Dating sim is a simulation game focused on stats-based gameplay. You spend the majority of the time on arranging protagonist's daily/weekly/monthly/whatever schedule, improving stats, earning money, meeting and chatting with other characters (girls) and improving relationships with them by using said stats or buying presents. Story (if any) is usually quite basic (though there are a few exceptions).

Visual Novel is basically a novel with sound and visuals. They have only minimal interactivity (if any) in the form of choices. You don't "play" them really, those are all about reading.

Persona 4 is an RPG, though it does have some dating sim elements.

Go here, all the novels are translated.
Ignore the name most the titles they have aren't overly sexual.
You'll need 7zip and Daemon Tools if you wanna use them. Other than that just remember these 3 things while you're setting the games up.
1- set your computer language to Japanese to avoid problems
2- know where you're saving the files
3- put all 10-20 of the game files in the same folder and THEN install the game.

It'll take some trial and error but once you get used to it it's easy.

From the site just pick any game that doesn't look ridiculously sexual. FATE is there as well.

This is a bit of a stretch but in recent years Harvest Moon has become pretty romance-focused o3o

The only dating sims I've played were on newgrounds LOL

I had fun, but I assume they suck compared to the real deal.

Have you tried Outside?
Now you're wondering if there's white text in any of my other posts.

Over there, I'm everywhere. I know that.
