Do you listen to Anime OSTs while concentrating on something else?

Is anyone else in the same boat?

I find that listening to the Clannad OSTs (approx 6 hours in total) helps me relax and focuses my mind a lot more.

Do you listen to anime music when you're concentrating on something? perhaps evening gaming?

Possibly, I can't see why I wouldn't. I used to listen to the Zelda OST when I studied. as long as it doesn't have lyrics I wouldn't see it being a problem. It may also be possible to listen to Japanese lyrics as I - personally - find it easier to concentrate on something else if I can't understand the lyrics.

Sometimes. By I mostly don't. You can do that while drawing or sketching, but never for EXAMS. You need concentration.

Yeah, it's like classical music but without the urge to air conduct.

I use some OSTs to help me sleep.

Videogames music helps me keeping myself focused better, though.

Music boxes that were from anime ed and op was what helps me sleep, as for studying, the piano ost helps. The beats without any lyrics as well.

Yea, sometimes. Although I generally find music a distraction when I am trying to focus on something.

Yeah definitely, especially when people are being loud when I'm trying to sleep through midday, although it is rather uncomfortable wearing headphones when sleeping; I should buy some earphones.

About half my music is anime-related so it's hard not to listen to it at all, but I can vouch that music in general helps one study/increase the chance of memorization.

[center][size=90]I'd say my music-listening while studying is composed 40% of OPs and EDs, 20% of songs unrelated to anime, 30% of piano covers of anime songs, and 10% of OSTs.
I like listening to OSTs, but there's very few that I genuinely enjoy. The three I've been bouncing back and forth between are those from Nagi no Asukara, Glasslip [ as shit of an anime as that was, it has a great soundtrack imo ], and Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso- all of them relaxing and largely classical. Most of the time, I only listen to an OST if I'm doing something that will take a long time and requires concentration.
I've heard that loud or energetic music actually can distort eyesight, so that's why I make an effort to listen to something more calming when I need to focus on my assignment, whether it's art commissions or an essay. For basic homework, I'm more likely to just play some normal songs because I don't put a lot of thought into my homework [ at least, that's what the American education system encourages ;b ]

Yeah, sometimes. A mixture of vaporware, classical and instrumental since they're not too distracting.

Yes. This sounds crazy but honestly about 40% of my entire music on cellphone/laptop are anime OST. And when I am playing computer games, listening sometimes is a bit of relaxing for me. However, in some circumstances I find it annoying probably because I listened too much.

sometimes
coz there are some funky jazz OSTs in animu like the whole Baccano OST that makes me keep working
I also use it to calm mein stressful days like using Mushishi or Natsume Yuujinchou OSTs

Unless it's a song I've heard a million times, I can't focus while listening to English music. I really enjoy listening in to the lyrics of songs and trying to figure out what everything means so my brain isn't content with simply bopping along to the beat.

On the other hand, even if it's a song I've never heard before, I never really have that problem with Japanese music or instrumental stuff. I can't understand a god damn word they're saying half the time meaning I can focus less on the song and more on my work.

I don't like most anime music, the majority is generic up-beat Japanese pop stuff sang by female groups. I'm sorry. What I really liked was the Zankyou no Terror OST, I listened to that shit all day while gaming, studying etc.

Still, most of the time.. if I want to relax, sleep, study, concentrate etc. then I use those nice playlists on spotify made for that specific purpose.

Your probably need to watch an anime with different genre which will avoid Japanese pop//hit-hop music.

But when I just want to think or relax then sure, especially to Jun Maeda's soundtracks.
