We've all watched that one anime that has struck an emotional chord with us. What I mean by that is; making us electively laugh, cry, get angry, worried etc; towards the characters within the anime.

Which anime was that for you, and why?

for me, it was Clanand. It still is to this day! Clannad was the first anime I ever watched, and I'm really thankful towards my boyfriend who had shown it to me when we first met (we watched it together).

Towards the end of Clannad (without giving any spoilers) I felt really emotional (and if you've seen Clannad, you'll know why)

So, what about you?

Haibane Renmei made me very misty eyed. Everything about it from the characters to the atmosphere hit my feels. It's so bittersweet.

Barakamon is one of the funniest anime I've seen. I had to pause it a few times because I was laughing so hard. It's been awhile since a show has done that.

The Tatami Galaxy, Watashi is far and away the most relatable character I've run into, even outside of anime, so it made me think about what I'm doing with my life.

Not any anime to be honest. I've read multiple manga that have though. Oyasumi Punpun and Solanin by Asano Inio really got me. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou evokes some really strong feelings of nostalgia.

The best 10min shorts often have more acute emotional impact than an entire series,

Father and Daughter
House of Small Cubes
Duet - Glen Keane
Invention of Love (2010)

Adding,

Kaiba--first 3/4=wow
Honey and Clover
Trust and Betrayal--last ova esp

FLCL, if you can believe it. However, it was mainly because I found the main character to be very relatable.

When I first started watching anime I was shocked when I watched Clannad AS but I never really got emotional. The only show that ever made me get emotional was Toradora and it still kinda gets me when I think about it too much.

pretty much every anime I've seen, it's not hard to strike an emotional chord with me. As far as individual characters though I'd have to say Mitsui from Slam Dunk when
don't really know if I needed the spoiler but better safe than sorry I spose.

Of course Clannad, because of course. And then there's Nana, Ano Hana, a few others that aren't coming to mind right now.

But most recently Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso has been casually stomping my heart to mush.
