Did you play visual novels this summer/year so far? If so what did you think about them?

Also I would like to add if you didn't play any, do you plan on playing any VNs in the future? Why or why not?

Myself I played Katawa Shoujo, Muv Luv Extra, Muv Luv Unlimiited, Muv Luv Alternative, now I'm very near the end of HF in Fate Stay Night.

I didn't expect to play this many but I ended up having more free time than I thought I would this summer. Since school is starting in a week though, I will not play another one until Christmas vacation. I think I'm either playing Fate/Hollow Ataraxia or Devil on G-String depending on FHA translation status in December.

I won't go into too much detail about the ones I played this summer, since I have full blown reviews for them on my profile if you want to go check those out. I thought KS was fine/okay, Muv luv Extra/Unlimited were good, and Alternative was amazing. Fate Stay Night has been quite fun for the most part, but not on an Alternative level though.

Right now i'm playing the VN of Steins;Gate. I already watched the anime but the VN is very interesting. It showed a lot more than what the anime showed. I have played Katawa Shoujo, but I haven't played it in a while, same with Little Busters.

Played Irotoridori no Sekai + Hikari, Onigokko + Fandisc, Strawberry Nauts and Fortune Arterial over the past 3 months.

Onigokko and Strawberry Nauts were decent but nothing too special and Fortune Arterial was pretty good.

Now IroSekai is pretty much a kamige, incredible VN, much better than Favorite's previous title HoshiMemo.

Recently started fate stay night. It's my first VN and am enjoying it so far from the little that I've played. Want to prep myself before the new adaptation of unlimited blade works hits.

Idk how you guys manage to play NVL VNs, after playing ADV for so long its impossible for me. NVL are either very old VNs or came from unprofessional producers. Makes it hard to appreciate the work.

Niina-chan's Lovely Life and Shuki Shuki Daishuki, I prefer Shuki Shuki Daishuki as it's much cuter, and has pregnancy endings (uncommon for loli VNs).

I thought you meant visual novels released in the past months.

I've played only one visual novel. This is it. I play it occasionally in the past 2 months I think. It's really entertaining and I'm thinking about playing more. It's just that clicking or pressing space bar takes way too much effort. Only joking, I'm just too lazy to look for a good VN to play. :P

I played Chaos;Head, Waifu Souls, that VN that released on Steam - Sunrider, and now playing Fate/Stay Night

All of them are good except for Chaos;Head - the main character, the story, the art - everything in it disgusts me

I bashed Kamidori Alchemy Meister earlier this year and done one route, but the NG+ put me off doing the others.

Also played Kohime Musou which was a lot of fun. I wish it didn't have so many H-scenes though, much like Kamidori.

Played bits of others here and there, but nothing too much.

I finished UBW route of F/SN a few months ago, and I'm almost done with Heaven's Feel. I plan to do the Fate route last before finally moving on to Steins;Gate next. I have very limited experience with visual novels so far, but it's growing on me.

Finished the Muv-Luv series this summer. Luckily, no PTSD. A whole lot of sleep deprivation while playing MLA, though, damn that was addicting. Finished Chaos;Head earlier this year, was nice too with a few twists I didn't expect. A bit cliché though, but in overall good.

I played Hakuoki: Memories last month and finished 3/6 routes and I started DMMd a few days ago and finished all the routes yesterday, maybe? I'm working on re:connect now, but something about it makes it hard for me to play more than one route (or even really finish the route in its entirety) in one sitting. Probably because 70% of the content is... well, nsfw, and tbh, I'd rather have more plot. Those scenes are awkward af to get through without muting.

Played Edelweiss. Aside from the creepy friends, it was pretty interesting, I guess. Didn't think it'd be so NSFW. Still haven't gotten through all the routes, but I'm at least...60% done.

Probably should've went with Little Busters since it's apparently that good.

Just asking, but how were you able to read Grisaia no Meikyuu and Grisaia no Rakuen? I've been dying to read them in English ever since I played the first one. Are you able to read Japanese?

To some extent at least, definitely not enough on its own but combined with ITH & TA as support it's enough for me to get by. Though I wouldn't try any plot-heavy sci-fi games like Baldr Sky (really want to read it though t.t) but so far I've managed with everything I've tried in JP with that method at least, Aiyoku no Eustia probably being the biggest stretch in difficulty but still managable.

Though if it makes you feel better, Kajitsu is still way better than the sequels.

Decide to invest my time in Kamidori Alchemy Meister this summer and I thoroughly regret it. It gets really redundant when you have played like 100 hours and still not everything is unlocked. I should have gone for the Muv-Luv Trilogy or replaying Rewrite.
Missing the times of Rewrite, good times.

Just finished Fate Stay Night last night... so in this summer I played Katawa Shojo, Muv Luv trillogy, and Fate Stay Night. The FSN routes are long, and Muv Luv Extra + Unlmited are 10+ hours individually I think, so really it feels like I played 7 visual novels this summer xD. Probably logged between 100 and 150 hours in total, even though that's just a guess because I never timed my gameplay and I would often get sidetracked by anime/manga/videogames/chores/other summer stuff.

I've started too many to remember, however I started Fate/Stay Night not long ago. It's a pretty decent read, although it's really long, and the translations are a bit lacking taking it's length into consideration.
