The pacing of this show is so damn slow.. I couldn't handle watch 2 eps in dub (dub is easier for me to handle slow pacing shows) so is there any reason that I have to watch?

Also is there a manga of clannad? I can handle slow pacing manga better..

So can I or no? Btw you can give me all the spoil that you want lol.. spoil makes me more interest on watching (thats how I started watching naruto.. madara arc <3)

I wouldn't recommend to honestly. Your going to miss out on some important scenes and characters. I know the beginning is slow but it picks up half way.

Is it worth it? Can you give a major selling point? Use the spoil tag so mods dont remove the comment.. maybe with a little of spoil will make me watch it

No. You'll miss out on so much if you skip on the initial character development.

and Clannad is a visual novel originally, you can play it instead if you want, it's just as good but there's no manga equivalent

there's really no point in watching After Story if you haven't watched the first series.. the reason after story is so famous is because of all the build up in the first series.. don't miss it.. its an epic tale.. :)

The first season is necessary so that you will feel attached to the characters. Afterstory won't have much impact if you don't watch the first season.

Not really, it's just you. Besides, skipping something to get to the good part is kind of dumb. It's like skipping the introductory arc of Bleach and skipping straight to Soul Society. You miss a lot of important details and whatnot.
And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

I cried more in Clannad than I did in Clannad: After Story, so I dunno. Maybe Clannad just isn't for you?

Then again, you'd never know through the first two episodes alone.

I watched it dubbed, BTW.

I question whether sitting through the horrendous first season is worth it. I dropped season 1 after 10 episodes because I couldn't take it any more. I don't see an issue with going straight for season 2; neither of the characters get development anyway, especially not Nagisa

Skip to episode 19. I'm being merciful fanbois.

But just be ready that After Story will still be this same Slice of Life snoozefest for its first 9 episodes, then finally it gets going and for those 11 episodes and the disappointment that awaits you at the end this is your "masterpiece"! because "muh feeeelz"

You can, but I would seriously reconsider watching it.

I like clannad a lot (almost all of it, visual novel, music and anime) to me skipping clannad is not an option.

However I don't know your motives for wanting to watch after story. After story (the latter half of the After story season which is probably the part you're interested in where you "feel sad", "get the feels", etc etc, is the part I like least.

After reading clannad, after story didn't present me with my favourite scenario. Clannad offers arguably ~~6 heroines, I like all of them, but some more than others.
Clannad offers arcs for some heroines and After story offers other arcs. Skipping either, means skipping content. You can and it's totally up to you.

I compare it to skipping film 1 of lord of the rings and only watching frodo related scenes in film 2 and 3. Yes, you'll get to see the important parts which conclude what will happen to the ring, but wouldn't you also enjoy the other scenes?

I'm rewatching Clannad & After Story for the 3rd time now. The first time watching... I was a bit antsy. However, I have to agree with everyone else here, I only enjoyed After Story and every episode I rewatched because I fell in love with the characters. Each and every character is amazing. The music alone brings tears to my eyes.

This is one of the only shows to have lingered in my mind for a week or more straight. It was all I could think of. It's also the only thing in my life that could make me cry.

If you still don't like it after Fuko arc, then you are a monster. Go watch the movie if you like it short and straight to the point. You're missing out. If, however, you change your mind and enjoyed everything Clannad has to offer, I recommend Kanon as well.

I'll gladly be a monster just to rid myself of the existence of the character and her story.

Watched Angel Beats, or I sort of did. Watched maybe 3 or so episodes before I decided to skip straight to the end because I wasn't satisfied with the setting itself. Maybe it is just me, but ending was forced drama. Clannad reached deeper for me, personally.

DON'T YOU DARE. The second season won't be as painful er, be as good without that character development. Anyways, I love the Fuko arc (first arc) personally, though lots of people don't. I thought it got good at around episode 4, but some will tell you it doesn't get good until the halfway point of the series.

I loved Fuuko arc moreso the second time. I think during my first time through Clannad I was really looking for the drama and what not. I was looking for what made it great. Once the arc ended I realized I missed seeing Fuuko.
