I love the voice of the narrator on the English dub!

Hmm, seems that the protagonist is a little warrior poet of sorts. I'm not quite sure what her personality is meant to be though. Perhaps a bit of a strange mix between childish and serious.
And is the tank itself talking? Kind of reminds me a bit of Kino's Journey, with a traveler who talks with the motorcycle.

That was a good episode though it did make me cringe...like a lot. Spiders. Lots of spiders ffs >___<

Decent OP song, strong female MC, and overall themes fits well. I guess I'll keep on watching this to see where it goes.

Jumped into this anime without knowing a thing.

Post-apocalyptic or other worldly setting, a cool/energetic/upbeat female lead, and lots of action with a mindfulness towards atmosphere and pacing with its slower scenes. That moment towards the end where they released that firefly with the camera zoomed all the way back was great. Of course, not exactly sure I'm digging the blatant warrior poet bit, nor am I too sure about using a sword in a setting that seems built for gunfights, but I'm extremely thankful that this is less like Grenadier and more like Slayers or Kino's Journey, albeit with a Trigun setup. I'm liking this so far.

As far as first impression goes, the first episode did not "wow" me or blew me away. What it did do, was bring a general idea or at least some background story with our main character. Thought the music was nicely done and very memorable for a fact, not to mention that the visuals were solid considering this anime was in 2006. I'm not too sure of the story as right now, but hopefully episodes 2 and 3 will quickly answer my question. For a rating, I'll give episode 1 of The Third a 5.5 out of 10 so far.

Well, at least the girl rescues the boy. Way to generic, except with insects.

Tried this on a whim despite literally never hearing anything about it before and it actually was alright. Got slight Kino's Journey vibes from it, maybe that's just the boyish protagonist and talking vehicle though. I like how it's got some early 2000 goofiness to the designs but was pretty competently made overall. Seems charming.
