The new OP is kinda not fitting. Oh well.

What a beach episode! And also, Mamiko-san voicing Valkyria is creeping me out (Sawako version 2.0 hahahaha). I also noticed Nanami's voice at the ending theme *sniffs*

The new OP was kinda lovely since I love Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas

For me, this is the best episode so far. Nanami's death then finished by the memories wash, its just really heartwarming scene.

yeah that Noto Mamiko's voice on Valkyria was kinda scary. Never heard her voiced like that before, because I usually hearing her voicing soft voiced type characters.

1. Intense opening. Reminds me of death note opening

2. Nanami's death was truly unexpected. Well presented

New OP and altered ED with Nanami's spirit
Darn Nanami died, potentially the strongest magician amongst the group
She really died in a horrible way, but erased the sadness of her friends and added herself into Ryouta's memory

The light scenes after were good with the indirect kisses and doutei request from Kazumi and later Kuroha ending up being the top of the grade xD
Such a shame Ryouta forgot the check out her mole for the second time at the beach

The entrance of the Valkyrie was brutal with killing all of Magician that were suppose to control and watch over her

I would have preferred a less fragmented narrative (?) And not one-sided.
Plot that goes from one end too abruptly, the hand of Okamoto!
Drawing lacking.
Not bad dialogue at the beginning.

Oh god, how disappointed I am with this anime... Last episode is really, really what destroyed my hopes for being good. First, bad fanservice. I could have tolerated it, but then that opening...Oh my god... And finally, they skipped Skadi arc, and will insert full Valkyria arc... This will be really, really bad...

Man... the new op sucks. Not the song itself, it sucks because it doesn't match. I think from next week I will skip op every time when watching. The new op animation isn't bad though. In my country there's a saying literally means: "Things that looked beautiful when kept apart can looked miserable when put together." And this is what I felt for new the OP.

Anyway I really wondered how much contents can be squeezed in the remaining episodes. In this episode it already showed some negative effects. There aren't enough time to build up for supporting characters. Many parts that make characters more human-like were also being cut such as:

Murakami got pissed off of the girls because they used magic for unnecessary things, and they weren't able to show magic to Kogorou who thought Murakami is a liar and refused to help.

Kuroha "remembered" something when being manipulated by Nanami. The way to bring her back was also changed to a way I don't really like.

The Skadi arc, that is probably the best (and doubtfully only) intellectual fight in this series. It also showed a much complicated side of Kazumi's character and makes her 10 times more likable than now.

The only thing I found amused in this episode was Kuroha's "I don't care who and who got indirect kissed" finally being song out. Well, I am a big fan of the original so I have a higher expectation for this animation, I just hope the Hatsuna and Valkyria parts won't fail me.

BTW Noto's voice is very suitable for a crazy female character like Valkyria.

^ Couldn't have said it better!

"A-a-a-and then she kinda died." Seriously, what's with this sudden death?

Leaving out how bad it felt, it's Nanami's own fault. She was really smart, more than to leave a man from the Organization a chance to get his memories back.

Ichijiko(tha mn with the white hair) sure isn't very smart as well. He couldn't measure Valkyrie's power at all, judging by how easily she dealt with her escort.

Seriously, does anyone in this anime think rationally?

I do feel bad for Neko, though. Losing her memories like that is horrible. She's clearly forgotten about more than just the karaoke.

Ryota's such a fail tsundere though.

Not a bad episode at all! I felt bad for Nanami, but she lives on in Murakami! This was a nice, relaxing episode after what happened with Nanami, but not it looks like it is going to get serious for the last 3 episodes! Loved how Nanami was standing next to Murakami at the very end of the episode!

As others have said, it was cruel to kill Nanami after giving us some hope.

I am guessing that Murakami has lost his photographic memory with Nanami living in his head, using up his remaining capacity.

The 2nd OP is jarring, but does it give us hope for a Season 2 for this series?

I would also like a virginity.

Kuroha Neko

That one take's the cake. I'm starting to consider Brynhildr a contender for the best comedy anime of 2014. How this show goes from a tragic moment to usual Brynhildr fun time and makes it work is once again praiseworthy.

I was definitely sad about Nanami's fate and yet I couldn't NOT laugh when Kuroha sang her little "I don't care about an indirect kiss." song(I also thought it was cute) and the "virginity" prize chit-chat.

That being said,Kuroha's memory loss is worrying. Brynhildr might be funny but it can also be cruel and it'd be sad if she'd forget Murakami. The first step might be to stop using her power to casually take down trees(and yes I considered that funny as well but felt guilty about it - DAMN IT Brynhildr!).

Just want to ask something to the people that have read the manga , how is the anime compared to it?

Cause I remember them butchering the Elfen lied anime quite a bit when they adapter the manga.

The story is interesting ,but it feels like the show falls flat at a few points and that makes the show overall feel very mediocre to me. Just wanted someone's opinion.

Aw hell that death was quick, lol. And daaaaaamn, Nanami erased all their memories of her! Sucks for MC. His exposition about Nanami's motivations kind diminished the impact though... not that there was much to begin with. Idk, maybe I have to marathon this series in order to feel what it clearly wants me to feel.

I can't wait for the uncensored blu rays. These death scenes are gonna be gruesome... and of course the lovely fan service.

I like "Fear, and loathing in Las Vegas" but this show didn't need a new OP. It's almost over already.

Nanami died. Saw that one coming. The death scene was stupid in a lot of ways.

The rest of the episode was basically about nothing. You'd think they would put that time into having the scientist guy study Nanami's harness instead, but no, beach episode is clearly more important.

Pretty odd timing to change the OP; not that it's worse than the old one. I'll probably get used to it.

The drama felt somewhat forced this episode; one second we have Murakami grieving over Nanami and a few minutes later he's getting wrapped up in the antics of his harem.

This episode... I was tearing up pretty bad when Nanami was dying, and then less than a minute later, i was laughing my ass off when she mentioned writing herself into Murakami's mind and taking up most of the empty space. That look on his face was priceless. It's rare to find a comedy gem moment right in the midst of something sad like that. And then the singing about the indirect kiss later was also comedy gold. Probably the funniest episode so far.

It would have been better to make it a 2 season or a 24 episode season ....maybe then it would have been better.

Ugh, so many questions.
Did anyone notice there were 5 girls on top of the hill in the new OP? I'm sure as heck that wasn't Nanami (bless her poor tortured soul), so can anyone tell me who that new girl on the hill was?

Also, can the manga readers shed a little light? How many chapters are out thus far and how far along are we anyway? On what chapter did the current arc end? I'm planning to read it from the start, but I'd love to know just how much more content there is in the manga after this arc (enough perhaps for a second season?).

We've got 3 episodes left and we have yet to even touch upon the alien egg, the organisation, or even whether Kuroneko will be able to survive past the 3 week deadline (time seems to move awfully slow in the anime). Given the pacing, I'm definitely hoping for a second season!

This really needs a second season to finish it properly, but so far it feels too damn rushed because it is apparently. Hopefully not a cheap ending in just a few episodes.

The new opening is REALLY good; perhaps better than the first, and I loved the first.

The scene with Nanami made me cry... then my friendl messaged me talking about Andy in the recent episode of Cowboy Bebop he watched and I started CRACKING UP WITH TEARS RUNNING DOWN MY FACE and it was just such a confusing experience...

So many feels in this episode, yet so many lulz to be had too, especially when Ryouta caught Neko singing then accidentally sung the same line while trying to say he didn't hear anything. Oh my gosh, that was hilarious. I laughed, I cried; this was a brilliant episode.

Ryouta x Kazumi still OTP

Yeah for me, the bipolar nature of this anime makes it hard for me to take things seriously. Plus, sometimes the scenes just jump around, such as right after Murakami hugs Kuroha, then it goes to a brief scene with Kuroha studying math and seeing that water bottle. Idk, Kuroha remembering that indirect kiss doesn't really seem important to me. But that's just me personally...

Aside from that, Nanami's death made me sad, out of all the other witches, I liked her the most and found her the most interesting.

A one cour show getting a second OP? Okay. I don't particularly like the song, but to each their own. Looks like the brown haired girl with the side tail is joining the group? And then Nanami appears in the ED.

So Nanami did die. All those death flags didn't go unchecked and it was pretty much right after the whole friendship circle thing. Ouch. But, Kogorou should still have his memories right? Cause...he didn't look into Nanami's eyes when she was melting. Hell, dude seemed rather calm when she started dissolving.

Kazumi is straight up asking for Ryouta to knock her up. WOW lol, she's coming off way strong. And the dumb Ryouta here forgot to use his eidetic memory to confirm that Kuroha is Kuroneko. Looks like that is not getting resolved ever.

So Valkyria is the white haired witch in the OP. She looks a bit like Kuroha.

They are going fast at it no doubt. The tone and theme remain nonetheless the same, but they are adapting the Valkyrie arc and that goes all the way up to chapter 100 in just 24 episodes, and we're already at half point. I expect that they slow down a bit more at this point, but for reference they skipped an entire arc with a foreteller magic user called Skadi, which was quite the danger and explored Kazumi a lot more on her selfishness and love for Ryota.

Probably they skipped it because for what they were going to adapt, that arc was meaningless and had no future consequences, still a shame.

Wow, sad episode.. I didn't think I would get so attached to Nanami after like 2 episodes, but damn.. Followed by ruined moment thanks to Murakami! It was simple to tell what happened without your explanation Murakami, geez. Then uhh she inserted herself into his heart? The fuck? Don't milk her death just let it pass, I swear I could teach these writers a thing or two.

Kuroneko loses her bra and no fan service scene? No pushing her breasts against Murakami? *blushes* "D-D-D-Don't move Murakami-kun, someone might see!" Showing us that was pointless.

Oh, and looks like I'll be skipping the opening from now on. What's the point of adding another one? There's only three episodes left. Still looks the same too, it feels like the only thing that changed was the song.
