It's just about the most useless Stand (as far as battle prowess goes) to ever be introduced in all of the parts. But that's because it's really nothing but a plot device to begin with (so some other plot device Stands later on also have no fighting capabilities). |

| Slow episode, but the pace at the speed it needed to be. Next episode the pace will pick back up again, with possibly two fights. Regarding Hermit Purple: as Grandy said, it was designed to get the plot ball rolling, but Joseph does find some good use for it inside of combat later on. Probably the main reason it wasn't designed to have a combat focus however is so Joseph didn't take too much of the focus away from Jotaro and Star Platinum. After all, this is the first part with more than one Joestar as a main protagonist. |

| It's likely that Araki has changed the power of Dio's stand midway through the part. We see him using his power many times before it get explained but the explanation doesn't match with what he was able to do (unless we come out with some ridiculous and comical ideas of how he could use his power to do those things). |

I would like to reiterate a point that someone has said already earlier in this thread: Joseph`s stand does more than just take pictures. It can be used in battle in a very unique way. I hope I`m not spoiling too much but I just didn`t want people to think that`s all he can do. Plus I think Joseph has way more personality even as an old man than Jotaro/ I can only comment on what I've seen my friend, as I have not read any of the manga. Also, don't take that as me hating on Joseph. Joseph is my fravorite JoJo, from the small pool of JoJo's I can choose from, although Jotaro still has a lot more episodes to grow and get me to like him. |

| Good opening 3 episodes, stands are a good idea and are going to lead to some amazing battle scenes. I am also very happy that joseph is in it, i didnt think he would be. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that lisa lisa is long dead now, wish we could have seen more of her in action, that's my only disappointment really :P |
