Episode 1 Okay, we have another imouto but I still enjoyed this. Part it must have been the FRIGGIN' BADASS UNICORN that they were fighting at one point. Seriously, badass battle unicorns alone make this a must watch for everyone. Pretty solid episode overall. It could go anywhere but as long as we see more of these unicorns I'm in. |
I probably regret this post by now. |

Episode 1 This is one show I was really excited for and this first episode was good. I agree with Higashi_no_Kaze that the unicorns were badass. I've never imagined unicorns in that way before. I hope this gets better, even though it's already fine, but the original author of Hitsugi no Chaika is the same as Outbreak Company. Outbreak company was alright at the start, and maybe even good, but it just got stupid and boring. Hopefully, Chaika will be much better. The guy's sister is violent; maybe she'll get annoying eventually, but that's me being pessimistic. |

Episode 1 I had pretty much no expectations going in. I wasn't even planning to watch this until it popped up on CR and I decided to check it out. That unicorn was crazy! That creepy chant and vicious nature. Also, the splitting in half part of it was pretty epic. A nice, unexpected gore moment there. That is some weapon Chaika has. Slow casting time though it seems. I even thought Chaika's broken speech and actions were pretty cute. I liked this episode so much more than I thought I would. |

Ep 1 Finally the long awaited sequel of Golgo 13 set in a technologically advanced fantasy setting, featuring one of his many offspring. Seriously wth is up with those eye brows? Atleast make them the same colour as her hair so they don't stand out THAT much. Looks like her eyebrows aren't the only thing she inherited from her father though. She also inherited his mastery of the sniper rifle and preference for limited speech... or in this case lack of proper grammar. I guess the absence of a father figure in her life would do that. Yeah, real talk though the episode was pretty decent aside from the IMO kinda pointless imouto. Also UNICORNS FACK YEAAAHH! |

Episode 2 Sadly, no more unicorns :( The whole story is still kinda out there and I think I need more exposition to deem it interesting or not, but it sounds like it could be fun. |

Ep 2 Yeah I'm pretty much with you guys, the 2nd ep wasn't very interesting. Nice to know Golgo eventually got bored of assassination and decided to be the emperor wizard of the world and what not. Yeah I'm probably gonna drop this unless it really impresses me with the 3rd ep |

Episode 3 I liked this more than episode 2, at last we got to know the characters a bit better and the plot is really starting. Agreeing with the monster designs being pretty cool. More unicorns would still be awesome. |

Ep 3 Yeah the wolves were cool, but aside from that I'm having a hard time keeping myself interesting. Its 11 eps I believe, so I guess I'll just keep going with it. Also the setting reminds me a lot of Vampire Hunter D. Kind of a futuristic fantasy, with all kinds of crazy monsters running around... minus the vampires lol. |

Episode 4 Yeah, I was kidna chatting with brian while I watched this episode so I didn't perceive it as that boring, but I didn't need much attention to keep track of what happened and it wasn't very exciting too. I had to roll my eyes when she transformed into a highschool girl at the end... Btw I thought you were playing baseball, not football? You multitalented bastard :P. |

Ep 4 Yeah this show has gotten to the point where I have to play music over the episode to keep myself interested. I mean the dragon was cool and stuff, but yeah this whole thing was kinda meh. Was listening to the Fantastic Planet (La Planet Sauvage) OST over this btw. |

Haha, yeah I'm a big sports guy even though I'm just as big into the video games, anime, tv, and the internet side of things. I play for an Alumni league in football and we have a couple games per year is all. Its pretty cool because anyone who graduated from my high school can play on our team. So, we end up having an age range of 19 years to a few guys in their upper 40s on the team. We play against another high school's alumni team. We are playing our city rivals this Saturday, so I've got good friends on my team and on the other team. Should be interesting :P. |

Episode 5 I have to say this was the first episode that got me mildly interested in the plot of the show. The flow of new characters helps because I'm not a fan of the main trio and I'm starting to want to know where the whole Chaika thing leads. For now it looks like there might be multiple real Chaikas all being part of Chaika but maybe different aspects for her? Like the white chaika being soft and the red chaika being anger and maybe they even have different parts of their memories still remaining. |

I'm a bit late with this. Episode 4 Nice episode, but nothing outstanding happened. Fredrika isn't my favorite character, but I could get used to her. Episode 5 This was a massive step up from the previous episodes. The episode flowed so well and the influx of characters is actually amplifying the drama. I'm going to be so into this if this show transitions into a mystery, thriller, adventure hybrid-like plot. I'm enjoying this a lot more and I hope other people will too because Hitsugi no Chaika is on my FAL team ;). Anyways, the Chaika mystery is interesting so I'm pumped for the next episode. I'd be happy if it didn't disappoint. |

Ep 5 Where the hell was Frederika when they were getting attacked by that other group? Does she just appear and reappear at will? Seriously if she was around to fight the other Chaika, the "white" Chaika wouldn't have gotten captured. It seems problems with grammer run in the family... I guess theres no ESL classes in the future... err JSL in this case I guess. Also what was with that "torture" scene... that was some weak shit... maybe Game of Thrones just spoiled me -_- Taxi Driver OST over the ep this week. |

Episode 7 I liked the encounter with the ex knight and some of the fantasies were funny but overall I'm getting a bit tired of the comedy/fanservice parts of this. I wish they focused more on the actual story and fights, or character development. |

Ep 7 This episode definitely felt the most episodic out of all the episodes. It was just get x item and leave. Kinda like Inuyasha with the jewel shards or Tsuba Chronicles with the feathers. Up to this point the series has been doing a good job at feeling more like a continuous story than something episodic. I was hoping we could meet some other Chaika's, but I guess we might have to go through a few more of these episodic episodes first. |

Episode 8 Pretty decent episode and we got to see a real fake Chaika this time. Didn't bring us any closer to getting any relevant answers though. Now we just know that there are multiple real and probably also a bunch of fake Chaikas out there. |

Ep 8 Her lack of solecism gave her away. Everyone knows real Chaika's can't speak properly! Anyway this was an okay episode, didn't really progress the plot much but we got to know there are fake Chaika's and ppl who still support the Gaz Empire... well sorta lol. |

Episode 10 [spoiler] "Every few days he takes ALL the girls in town to his mansion" "Noone ever returns from there" How the fuck can he take them to his mansion more than once if they never return? I guess I reached the stage where I can't help but pick up on every small issue and bicker about it xD. |

Ep 10 [spoiler] Yeah... of all the really great things this season that are only getting 1-cour, why did this one of all of them get chosen for 2 cours? -_- Anyway... floating fortresses are pretty cool. Mind control is really OP and we saw another Chaika. Ghost Face Killah's "Twelve reasons to Die" over this eps audio. Usually not into rap, but narrative rap with funk and soul beats with an oldschool flow is a win in my book. |

I agree, though which other shows are there that don't already have a second season or 2-cour confirmed and could actually deliver one?. Mushishi is confirmed, JoJo will also be 2-cour, Ping Pong will be fully adapted I guess, Sidonia might run out of material to adapt too seeing how it isn't that old, same for Isshuukan Friends. The only shows left that I'd legitly want another season of are Bokura wa Minna and No Game no Life. But I'd still prefer a second season for Brynhildr or Soredemo over the Hitsugi no Chaika one ^^. |

Ep 11 [spoiler] Yeah I have a feeling Frederica is still alive somehow. That spider thing was creepy as hell though. The chaika revelation wasn't too bad, but I felt like it would have had more impact if I actually cared more about this show lol. 1 more ep left and then... another season. As for shows that I would like to get another season. Both of Brains+Base's romance anime, break blade (I would really like to see some content not covered in the OVA's), Sidonia, since I know theres still a lot of material to cover. Also haven't caught up on Ping Pong this season so idk if they're going to wrap things up this season, but if theres more material of that a second season wouldn't hurt either. @Brian, yeah I usually play something over the audio of shows that I find hard to get through to make them more interesting. Also did they enable images again? Nice sig :D |

Ep 12 [spoiler] Wow I almost forgot to post my final thoughts on this lol. So yeah Frederica is alive as expected and the final battle with Layla and co. was pretty interesting, I wish we could have gotten an actual airship v.s airship battle, but I guess thats a bit too much to as for. Not many feels have I about show. So yeah, character not proper grammar using, very odd seeming to me. At least fanservice not much using of in show. Setting similar seeming to me like Vampire Hunter D. Cool thing for me. Random monsters seeming strange, appearing nowhere out of, but look cool. Twisting plot is interesting appearing during final episode. Animation seeming lacklustre for studio of Bones. Not sure why second season. Disappointed. [b]4/10 |
